Bohannon out for year

And that's based on one single year? And with Iowa State bringing in a top 25 recruiting class next year? I'm not saying Iowa State will be better than Iowa next year but holy cow people are blowing this season out of proportion.
If prohm is the coach things won’t change

Um, Jordan has 3 1/4 years of stats under his belt. Career 40% from 3 and 89% FT shooter. Currently 284 made 3 pointers and could possibly finish as the most prolific 3 point shooter in Iowa and Big10 history. Jordan only needs 56 3 pointers made to be #2 all time in the Big10 and 91 to become #1.
No one is saying he's a poor shooter. It just comes across as a little goofy saying you miss him this season because of a video of him hitting shots in practice.

So what's your evidence of this? Purely opinion based I would guess considering he had a down year in '17-'18 and then the next year won 23 games and won the Big 12 Tournament.

Between 17/18 and last year, Prohm totally revamped the roster, brought in 4 new starters, pushed his two returning leading scorers to bench. So if you think it's a given he'll turn it around next year, where do the 4 new starters come from? Which current starters get pushed to bench? Which benched starters will leave the program based on that demotion? How will all of that turmoil impact the following year?

You forgot foster is going to come in and play so well he could go pro after year one.

Well 3 current starters will no longer be on the team next year, leaving Solomon and Bolton, two guys that have actually shown a lot this year, so we're not going to be pushing any starters to the bench. Tre Jackson could start, however it looks like we're going to go after some sort of immediately eligible player, so Jackson's status as a starter could be in question depending on what position that transfer plays.

Dubar and Blackwell look like they could come in right away and play at that 3-4 position. The talks surrounding Javahn Johnson have been very positive and it looks like he could get the nod as well. With how versatile Foster is and how good he is, he might end up playing himself into starting at that 4 position too. So next year's roster is going to be very fluid. There are not going to be any current starters who transfer, unless you think Jackson will leave after one year, Solomon is going to grad-transfer, and Rasir is taking off.

You said Prohm "revamped" the roster between those two years, and I think having 6 new faces, 4 of which make up a top-25 recruiting class, would be the definition of "revamping".

That doesn't make sense. They literally changed last year.

Lindell got injured. Prohm didn't "push" him to the bench. Lindell ended up playing starter minutes as the 6th man and won 6th man of the year in the Big 12. Cam Lard was a train wreck off the court and therefore was benched for Jacobson, who at the time was producing very well and also helped tremendously in the Big 12 Tournament.

What is your evidence that Prohm will be good again next year? I mean since Fred's players left it will be 2 out of 3 years of sucking. The one good year ISU did have with Prohm's players he had a returning Sr. in Babb, a high level transfer in Shayok and 3 incoming players who would all either be 1 or 2 year players before going to the NBA in Wiggington, THT, and Haliburton. I hate to break it to you, that isn't coming in next year.

Being a betting man, I'd say that odds are greater it is more of the same with Prohm next year, than Prohm actually transforming this program into a NCAA team.

Well we will all find out next year if they are a tournament team or not.

Totally agree. What do you think, do you think it is a turnaround year for ISU next year, or more of the same? I mean I will admit that I thought going into this year no way that Fran could get the Hawks to the tournament after losing Cook, Moss and Bohannon to injury. So I was wrong about that, I could certainly be wrong about Prohm as well.

I think you think I'm stating Iowa State is going to be a great team next year. I never once said that. I said that with the guys we have coming back, the transfer we have that will be available, the top-25 recruiting class coming in, and then the probability of landing a good transfer would make up a solid team that could compete to make the NCAA tournament.

You and I have no idea how good Iowa State will be next year. You're an Iowa fan, so you're going to assume all of the guys we get will flop, when actually Steve has done a pretty good job at finding talent. There's no evidence to assume we're going to suck and there's no evidence to assume we'll be good. We'll have to wait and see how everything ends up.

There was absolutely zero evidence Garza would be a POY candidate, CJ would be a 45% shooter, and Iowa as a whole would be a good team coming into this year, but here they are. Your judgement is clouded by the success Iowa is having and the lack of success Iowa State is having in this single year. Fran's team sucked two years ago and that was in his 8th year as a head coach, and now in his 10th year, his team seems to have figured it out. So don't lecture us on our coach who is now in his 3rd year with his nucleus of players when your coach took a decade to put together a team that actually looks promising.

I hope it improves but that will rely on all the new pieces coming together. I will be disappointed if we are not close to making the tournament again.
