Son had fender bender over the weekend,
Likely to just have it fixed ourselves.
Car is not worth much but well running, so if we can find a cheap repair probably worth doing.
Anyone have any Des Moines area body shop recommendations knowing we are seeking to strongly minimize cost?

Thanks

Took one of ours into Leydens last summer and was very satisfied. Good work and a very reasonable price. I think it might be a one-man operation because we only ever saw the owner there. He also does a lot of custom motorcycle work which is pretty cool.

R Jones is always top notch, but most shops now go by the uniform estimate sheets ( exact number of hrs it takes to repair something ) and usually won't wing it.

Not sure how close you are to Waukee, but I had someone back into our van and went to Olsen's Body and Paint there on Highway 6 just east of Shottenkirks. I was very happy with their work and the price was better then the other estimates I had.

Says website is under construction but gives you the contact details anyway.

Talk to Gary Roys, who has a private body shop outside of Luther, IA. He was super friendly while repairing my car from a rollover accident. When I got it back, the vehicle looked better than it did before the incident. He did a good job communicating his progress, and his rates were significantly below the average labor rates used by my insurance company to develop an estimate. Our family has given up on the bigger dealership body shops and will continue to have our work done by him.
