Bob Saget has died

Could be remembering it wrong but didn't Jodie Sweetin speak at VEISHEA once? Like mid-2000's.
Fun fact: Jodie Sweetin is the second cousin of former ISU basketball player, and Webster City native, Brock Jacobson

Not only was he touring but Bob started his own podcast. He had on Dave solo, John solo, Dave and John together, Candace, Jodie, Andrea Barber Scott Winger from the show. Some of his good friends like Gilbert and John Lovitz.

I started listening to his podcast probably a year or so ago, and litened to a lot of his back catalog. You could tell he was a complex dude, hard to explain really. You could tell he really cared about people. His podcast after Norm died was really hard to listen to.

But I am surprised and saddened to hear this. RIP Bob.

A lot of people don’t realize he also directed the comedy classic Dirty Work which I know a lot of people revisited after Norm’s recent death.
I saw him do standup comedy in socal in 2017 at the Irvine Improv. Was absolutely hilarious.

Also, that movie he directed with Norm McDonald "Dirty Work". Is quite easily in my top ten of comedy movies.
Another eerie coincidence Sunday the 9th was the birthday of his youngest sister who passed away at 47 from scleroderma.

Man there is quite the collection of great comics in the heavens. Right now Bob's at a table with his idols Don Rickles and Rodney Dangerfield and good friends Norm and Robin (Williams)
RIP Bob.

I was channel surfing yesterday and came upon an episode of "Beat Bobby Flay" on the food channel where Bob was one of the guest commentators/judges. Is that a coincidence or what?

The family he is saying he hit his head and went to sleep and passed.

I remember as a kid if you were concussed in a football game you weren’t supposed to go to seep or were to wake up every hour or so. Never really thought it was this serious.
I think the reason is you can't notice cognitive signs associated with brain injuries if you're asleep. But Bob was alone it sounds like so im not sure it would have necessarily mattered.

I’d have to wonder if alcohol involved in both the injury and the ”sleep”
I think it said it didn't....but does make you wonder what the head injury was....slip in shower and go to bed? Earlier in the day drop something and hit head on a cupboard getting up to fast? (Anyone ever done that? A few weeks ago I walked into a door jam walking through the house at night as an example)

No drugs, no alcohol detected in his blood. The injury was to the back of his head. Very strange.

agree. Hard to “bump” the back of your head without a fall. And you don’t just bleed inside your head from bumping it. It takes a significant impact usually. Maybe a fall, or a blow to the head.

I can’t help but think accidental injuries to the back of one’s head are extremely rare. Especially in southern climes.

agree. Ice and muggings and drugs/alcohol.

He was in a hotel, so I see it as much more likely when you're away from your home turf. I've knelt down under our center island and jacked my head on the quartz when standing up in our own home, knowing where it was - if you don't have your bearings around you, it's a whole lot easier. He was likely walking backstage before his set, which commonly has rough edges and unexpected machinery. Also, if he was in a hotel and it was one of those bath/shower combos, those are notoriously easy to fall in if you have to step over the edge (especially if you're, what was he, 65?).

I think it would be within normalcy for an aging man on his own (especially if he's a bit of a klutz, like me) to hit his head, either get embarrassed or assume it's nothing, and go to sleep.

I don't think they specifically would have said no drugs or alcohol if there were, just because it's so easily disputed from an autopsy.
