Bob Barker dead at 99

Bob may be the GOAT of game show hosts. Definitely some great moments when he was the Price Is Right host. Probably one of the funny moments I remember is this one. Bob had a ton of patience with this gal then his reaction at the end is just priceless.

I was getting infuriated just watching this, man. Probably just a ton of nerves on her part with so much to gain and the crowd, but damn.

Back in college, I was in a group that spent all summer on the road touring around the country. It was before the rise of cell phones, so we were basically disconnected from the real world for 3 months, aside from when we might have a free day to check email at an apple store or something.

It was a running joke to tell the kids that Bob Barker had died every summer. There was no way to fact-check it. So now when I saw the news today I was like "for real this time?"

ISU connection. Barker trained as a Navy fighter pilot but WWII ended before he went overseas. @wxman1

My wife made it to contestant’s row wearing an ISU sweatshirt and Bob commented on air that he did flight school in Ames. Seemed pretty positive about it.

Why the hell was he not our guest picker for Gameday in 2019 and 2021?! :jimlad:(sort of)

RIP Bob Barker. He was an icon and Price is Right was must watch TV while home from school in the summers.

This is one of my favorite moments, the way Bob reacted to both bids, he was like "yeah no way you are in the ballpark of not being over" and the girl knew she had the showcase showdown in the bag by bidding $1 the moment he placed his bid.haha

Honestly surprised we (ISU) hadn't ever pointed that out more publicly.....maybe because he wasn't an actual student?
