Ok guys, I'm trying to look to the future here. I'm trying to figure out what drink to make for next weekends tailgate. I usually just stick with beer but thinking with the early kickoff maybe something different. It's getting a little cooler out so I'm thinking maybe Bloody Mary. What's everyone's favorite Bloody Mary recipe? Or if you've got another drink that you prefer for cooler, earlier tailgates lets hear it.

I'm tried and true and even after last weeks loss I'll be there when the lots open ready for another football game and hopefully a well played victory.

vodka
tomato juice
hot sauce
horseradish
ground pepper
celery salt
a little of whatever else you like
ice

garnish with pickle, green olive and/or a celery stalk

edit because al_4_state reminded me, Worcestershire too!

and of course a beer back

if you want specifics measurements, forgetaboutit, it's like chili. just wing it and have fun.

I like zing zang, but then I add some hot sauce, worchestershire sauce, celery salt, cavender's greek seasoning, a dash of A1, and garnish with whatever pickled vegetable I have on hand. Asparagus and garlic stuffed olives are great, but expensive so I rarely have them around. Pickle spear is always legit.

The following recipe serves 6 and it is AWESOME!

2 cups vegetable juice cocktail
1.5 cups vodka
1 cup cocktail sauce
Juice of 1/2 large lemon
Juice of 1 small lime
2 teaspoons cracked pepper
1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1 teaspoon celery seeds
1/4 cup cumin seeds, ground

Celery salt to taste
Celery heart spears
Pickled okra
Pickeld green beans

Mix the first 9 ingredients together well. Moisten the rims of your glasses with water and rotate the rims in celery salt to cover. Fill glasses with ice and strain the bloody mary mixture into the glasses serve with a choice of cerery hearts, pickled okra, or pickled green beans.

This recipe will not disappoint!

Too lazy to make them from scratch, but my favorite mix is Famous Dave's.

I love the one they serve in the restaraunt with Devils Spit. Its is spicey, peppery, goodness. Big fan of Absolut Peppar.
