Blazing Saddles turns 40

Amazing movie. Nobody would get the satire of it was made today. People would just call it offensive and demand apologies.
 
I watched it in the theater in Mt. Pleasant 40 years ago? Last time I went by there, it was split into a two staller.

Paraphrasing; haven't seen it in a year or 10. Tried to watch it with my wife when we were first married and she made me turn it off. Made her uncomfortable.

She doesn't like Monty Python either. She's more Ed Sullivan to my Jim Morrison. With several major exceptions. Perhaps I should try decaff...

I never knew Richard Pryor was a lead writer for the movie and Brooks had him pegged to play the Sheriff - wouldn't it be interesting to see Pryor, at the beginning of his career, in that role.

Too many scenes to be called a favorite, but this one is overlooked, "Of course you'll have the good taste not to mention I spoke to you":
