I get a regular email news-letter from esquire magazine and the most recent one features an interview will Mel Brooks on BS (since it's 40 year anniversary), other comedy directors and possibility of a Spaceballs sequel.

She doesn't like Monty Python either. She's more Ed Sullivan to my Jim Morrison. With several major exceptions. Perhaps I should try decaff...

I never knew Richard Pryor was a lead writer for the movie and Brooks had him pegged to play the Sheriff - wouldn't it be interesting to see Pryor, at the beginning of his career, in that role.

Too many scenes to be called a favorite, but this one is overlooked, "Of course you'll have the good taste not to mention I spoke to you":

It's a classic and hilarious but it's nowhere near as funny at Young Frankenstein, IMO. BS is still one of the best comedies ever though.
