Black Swan - don't go

Any of you that enjoyed this, check out Requiem for a Dream. It is pretty explicit towards the end. I will throw that out for any parents thinking about watching, but this movie really really messed with me. In a good way. After watching I was just shocked, and awed. I had no idea a movie could go this far.

Check it out.

I just added "Requiem" to my Netflix cue. It says it is "UR" (unrated) but then the cover photo they use says "edited"? Hope this is the theatrical version...

I think we need to scrap the DARE program and just show everyone in 6th grade this movie.

You will get it when you get done watching it.

And yes this would probably go a lot further than DARE did or will.

I've heard mixed reviews from people that have seen the film and it doesn't appeal to me mainly because I can't stand Portman, but also because often times the folks who make these movies just try way too hard to create someting unique that they end up focusing more on that than on something good. I love the "artsy" movie defenders talking down to those who weren't into this movie. The funny thing is for every guy that thinks this is too "feminine" there is a guy who will blindly like it because of what critics tell them their supposed to like, or to sound like their cultured.

I couldn't disagree more with the OP.

If you know what you are going to see ... a movie by the same director as PI and Requiem For A Dream ... than you understand that you aren't going to see Star Wars.

That was an art film ... it was an amazing work IMO. Some don't like to think while watching a film, and I get that ... and I'm not trying to sound like a snob here... but do a little homework and go see Little Fockers if you don't want to sit through an art film.

I totally agree. Really well-directed as you would expect and suspense throughout. It grabs you from the beginning and doesn't let go. Great cinematography/editing as well. It may well win the Oscar for "Best Picture." It will at least be nominated.

Darren Aronofsky is awesome IMO.

I cannot say I have seen this film yet, but if it is anything like Requiem for a dream I will love it. Darren Aronofsky's work is remarkable to me. He brings people's demons to life, and you watch them unfold in front of you. Before you realize it the madness of the situation is full force and disgusting.

Sorry I am really bored at work, and litterally have nothing to do with classes just starting up.

i have a question about one of the scenes. When she is in the bathroom stall, I am assuming she was vomiting, but it she looked like she was standing up while urinating.

It threw me for a little while, but I was wondering if anyone else thought the same thing.

p.s. I thought it was very good

Was it a vomit upper-decker? Sounds like a Coen Bros. movie

I read this and agree 100%, but then I saw who the author was and shuttered. I can agree with Chuckles? The world has gone all topsy-turvy.

But seriously, the film was great.

Yep, and follow it up with "Red Hot Chili Peppers Behind the Music", and top it off with "The Basketball Diaries". No way anyone who has seen those three programs would still want to try heroin.

My thoughts exactly. Great movie.

o.k let just be honest. Who get's naked and how good is that scene. I am sick of these movies trying to be something they are not. Just advertise the damn thing as "Mila Kunis gets naked in the film" and I am in.
