Clark Kellogg is definitely better than Billy Packer. But Nantz will sandbag him, I'm sure. Jim Nantz is college basketball's version of Pat Summerall. Yawn.

I concur with the sentiments said here about Packer - one of the worst announcers (major announcers that is) of all time! AND I agree, CyRocket, once Dickie V is done - I will be a happy camper. The only thing I liked about DV is the fact that Orr "hammered" him good during the selection show ages ago. The only way I'd watch DV is if they did an Orr and Vitale basketball show where V blathers on about "basketball" and Orr comes in and totally smashes him with real basketball knowledge. That'd be a good program!

Was never really bothered by Billy. The guy was biased as all get-out, but almost all of the announcers have some sort of bias.

I agree with the statement about wishing Gus was filling his spot.

for me it wasn't bias, but stupidity that made me dislike him. I can't count the number of times he announced the wrong name or made an incorrect assesment. Glad to see him go. Not a fan of DV either, or John Madden for that matter.

Gus Johnson is a play-by-play guy, not a color guy--but I like him too. They ought to oust Jim Nance and replace him with Gus.

Wow, dreams do come true. Worst. Announcer. Ever. So glad he is gone. I have zoned him out so much over the years, and can't remember, but wasn't he a big, and I mean big, homer for the ACC and Big Ten and maybe a little Pac 10, and everybody else sucked? I seem to remember this for some reason. Apparently the person he had naked pictures of died or something?
