Bill Bleil

I have been saying the same thing for years now, it starts up front in the ******* trenches and we are getting burned in that position right now. Kstate has a good Oline which is why they are successful, but they also have a good QB and well better offense. I want some beef up front to push people around.

Messingham and Bleil needs to be shown the door. If not then I question our head coach.

there were a couple of Jantz's passes to where the receivers were complaining about the placement (Nealy was one), granted they weren't good throws, but no one was throwing a fit when Barnett skipped them in or lobbed throws over their heads.

How ironic was it that when Jantz's pass skipped to Nealy and he complained about the bad pass (with his head and arms motion) but on the next play as Jantz was going to get sacked thru to Nealy and he couldn't catch the pass that went right to his hands.

I was in the stadium yesterday and couldn't believe the lack of passing downfield, the latteral movement with our passing game and JB has NO touch on his passes. Our line was pathetic, receivers who had trouble catching balls and a qb who had trouble throwing anywhere near the recievers. JB was lucky not to have several picked off.

+1 .....especially Mess

We have to lead the NCAA in Total Yards Before Catch with the fewest yards per completion. We throw it 30 yards sideways for a potential 3 yard gain.

Which O-line are we critical of here? The O-line from the first series when we went right down the field, or the O-line at the end of the game? I don't think Bill B. is the main problem here. If you listened to what CPR said at the half--'we need to call better plays'-- is what I think needs to get addressed.

I agree that Bill put too high of expectations out there at the beginning of the season and he probably now wishes he wouldn't have said it, but our play calling and QB decision making could make our line look a whole lot better.

Before the season Bleil was talking about this being his best line since he's been here. That is obviously not the case, our line has gotten consistently worse since he took over the line from McFarland. When Bleil stuck his neck out saying this was his best line, that set the expectations for that group pretty high. They are obviously not reaching those expectations, and that blame falls on Bleil.
Interesting memory some of you guys have. Bleil never said that it was the "best" offensive line he's had since he's been here. What he said--as he's said every year--is that it's the deepest. If some of you guys aren't bright enough to know the difference, then you probably shouldn't go around bashing someone.

If you really think that's what he said, show me the quote.

For that matter, there are the other factors. A. Shaban Dika's injury. That means two tackles are playing out of position at right guard. Ben Bruns has talked about how tall guys are at a disadvantage inside. B. Ethan Tuftee's injury. I couldn't help but notice that a couple of those false starts were by his sub--who is also about 25 pounds lighter. When Tuftee is in there, he isn't at full strength. C. Brayden Burris' injuries. He was down on the field a couple of times, but still kept coming back out to take snaps.

I'm not saying that these are some kind of excuse, but let's at least take them into consideration before you start calling for someone's job. Just because we're "deeper", doesn't mean that it's the kind of depth that USC or Texas trots out there.

Its nice to see someone knowledgeable post on here. If Tuftee is healthy enough to go the full game and Shaban is healthy we wouldnt even be talking about this. Jacob Gannon is undersized and hurts us when he comes in to give Tuftee a break. It's also ridiculous how no one gives Bleil any credit for the success we had in the past at O-line. Hayworth and Kelechi didnt get to where they are today because they got lucky. Especially Hayworth.

We aren't the only team in the Big 12 with injuries to their Oline. Using that as an excuse is just that.....an excuse.

If we have great depth than injuries shouldn't affect us that much. I think we have some talented lineman but they haven't been consistent. Their pass blocking has been good at times and bad at times, their run blocking has been bad all year

Meh, he had two NFL guys on the line and the line play was inconsistent. Really, it kind of has been every year. We will be good for a game, then awful. I don't have an opinion either way on Bleil. It does seem as though he get's hung with a lot of nagging injuries to guys that allow them to play but not be 100% effective and people don't notice that. On the flip side I heard about how deep the line was so it would stand to reaosn that if someone is injured and isn't getting it done, we would have a replacement. I just don't want to hear the same stuff next year. Tell me they are awful or something.

Uhhh I was not serious at all, sorry for not putting the sarcasm pirate in there, thought you would get the sarcasm saying I question the head coach.

Sorry. We can't use the jimlad enough on days like yesterday and today.

I have heard this from CPR several times the last few weeks. I think he regrets the 'Mess' he created.

What possible candidates would they look for if they wanted a new OC anyway? I don't think you can go inside the system again to promote one so where do they look? New system entirely (hopefully) or similar

Anyone expecting Tuftee to stay healthy was a grade A bonehead. Last time he stayed healthy for a full season was roughly never give or take a few days.

Just so Aclone can read this statement again.
