Bill Bleil

Another game under 100 yards on the ground is pathetic. The sexy thing to do is blame the QB.

The line has been bad all year. Giving our backs no running room and not allowing the QBs to get into any sort of comfortable rhythm.

An average Big 12 QB would certainly open more holes for the the RB's wouldn't it?
First, yes, it could. You would be amazed how much better a Oline looks when the defense respects your passing game. Second, going into the 4th quarter IIRC, we averaged a respectful 4.7 yards per rush. For a season, the RB's have never averaged less than 4.7 ypc.

The OLine has quit in 2 games, and before that they were just average. Certainly our offense is futile due to a synergy of problems. However to think they are the foremost problem is simply not true.

Questions need to be asked for sure.

One has to wonder. Line looks slow, weak and honestly it looks like conditioning could even be an issue. Atletically tey are overmatched pretty much every week. And why are there 5 false start penaltys a game? I just worry about the whole situation here.

But the coaches said this group has a lot of experience. That has to count for something right.

Some of this stuff though, like that last play where Jantz had 3 guys on him on that last drive. Seriously, wtf is going on?

You'd think it'd be easy to complete passes when they're stacking 8 or 9 in the box but not with these ****** QB's. A better QB makes the O-line's job a lot easier.

They were blocking like they don't like Jantz.

True. I'll say this---it shouldn't matter whether you like your teammates or not. Just do your job.
The rest of your life, you're going to work with people that you don't like. It just happens that way. You have to deal with it and do your job.

Of course, with our OL, it really starts with "you need to do your job."

Every line will have numerous bad plays in a game. Hard to know why there was a noticeable increase in pressure after the QB change. Part of it is likely the fact Steele creates pressure as much as he alludes it. Also, this is twice now (TT being the other), that it looks like they quit on Steele late in the game....perhaps they feel it is pointless due to how Steele creates pressure.

there were a couple of Jantz's passes to where the receivers were complaining about the placement (Nealy was one), granted they weren't good throws, but no one was throwing a fit when Barnett skipped them in or lobbed throws over their heads.

If that's the case, it's a total lack of character by those guys.

True, but we have seen the same reaction from the defense at times. That is incriminating, but not something we have seen before this year from the OL and/or still not the foundation of our problems. The fundamental problem on offense is we do not have the personnel (both coaching and players) to be a multi-dimensional. And one-dimensional (average run game) quickly becomes dimensionless in a BCS conference.

It seemed to me like OSU amped up the blitzes and aggressiveness when Jantz came in, because they knew he was cold and had to be passing due to the score and time.

All our OL does is accupy space. And most of the time they're not great at that
Myu iompression is the oline makes the initial block and may hold the block, but when our qbs scramble, they are watching. I think they need to try to make more than one block and to disrupt the field.

Before the season Bleil was talking about this being his best line since he's been here. That is obviously not the case, our line has gotten consistently worse since he took over the line from McFarland. When Bleil stuck his neck out saying this was his best line, that set the expectations for that group pretty high. They are obviously not reaching those expectations, and that blame falls on Bleil.

...and I remember a ton of hype before the season started...hype about how this OL unit was going to be solid. Hmm...
