Big news coming

Finch was #16, Cozart was #29, Boston was #31 and don't forget Destin McCauley was #1
 
I am guessing Storr. Colbray would be great, because Rypel and Deitrich already verballed elsewhere. So Colbray is the only 184/197 pounder left that we actively recruited lately. I think the Wicks are visiting Wisconsin and Nebraska, then making a decision. Isley will be visiting Oct 10th. Not sure of other big names left. Ian Parker, but with Gomez committing, that might make Ian hesitant. Gremmel is another heavyweight we are looking at.
 
I know that it isn't happening, but given Harrington's possible issues. I wouldn't mind if the news were a 6th year for Gadson. He'd have it if he asked for it. His first two years were textbook for getting a 6th year due to injuries.

Storr is a stud. Was sick at Fargo & hurt his ranking. Was #2 in weight class at the time. Stud & real smart too!
 
KJ seems to be doing much better on the recruitment trail. Funny how that works after he gets an extension and recruits know he has a little job security...
 
I think one of KJ's biggest areas of weakness early in his tenure was having a good lightweight coach. The addition of Nickerson and now Escobedo is paying dividends.

Hopefully we can keep Earl Hall in Ames after this season to wrestle for the CWC. Having more and more practice partners around will only help the collegiate wrestlers.

Agree, and the publicity Kyven's national championship got doesn't hurt either.
 
I personally think KJ (like any rookie coach) has a learning curve. He has a great staff & recruiting the right kids for the program & making connections with high school kids & coaches. Congrats wrestling staff!!! If we can get Colbray, Wicks & Isley , this would be a stud class. Not sure if there is enough money though
