Tough to play three big Monday's in a row, and tough to be the road team 2 of 3. No chance to prep, and tough on sleep. Not an excuse, just fact. It's a great opportunity to showcase the program, but tough to manage.

Good thing we didn't play in Lubbock on Big Monday. That could have ended badly

Fred pointed out that the disadvantage is countered by the advantage of having 3 solid practice days* between Monday and Saturday so you can actually work on ironing things out rather than just having a couple of practices to rush in the game plan for the next opponent.

*Teams have to have a day off each week per NCAA.

Big Monday games on the road are going to be hard. One less day of rest, plus the away teams still has to travel, sleep in motels, etc. Not saying that is a great excuse, because the struggles that ISU is having are more fundamental in nature, but is sure doesn't help.

While this is true it is great prep for the tournament. Only we wont have to travel from our first to second game in the tourney.

It is a tight turn around but the other team has to do it too.

I bet everyone in and around the program will gladly take the 48 turn around for being the showcase game on ESPN 4 times on Big Monday this year.

Lack rebounding and too many turnovers also make Big Monday's tough.

Road loss to a good team. We'll still finish we our share of Ws.

Good point and this extra time will help against WV.

One needs only see KU's record on Big Monday. They are 30-1 at home and 23-16 on the road. Keep in mind, they were assuredly the favorites in those road games. That speaks to how difficult a quick turnaround game on the road is.

Yup, made even tougher by the fact that Fred said OU is probably the hardest team to prepare for in the conference.

Pointless statement as the score could have been even worse if it had been a Monday road game. Your statement does nothing to address the issue posed by the OP: it is difficult to win on the road with only one day between games.

Agreed that it is tough but all the top three Big 12 teams have to deal with it. KU has four Big Monday games with 2 on the road (in back to back weeks) as well. Oklahoma will have four Big Monday games with three of them on the road, assuming that the OU @ISU game is the one chosen on March 2.
