Looking ahead, I got to thinking, if you have not earned an allocation for Big 12, and you need to steal a spot to get to NCAAs, it looks like you would have to get two wins in order to steal a spot (or advance via bye). You can afford to lose your first match as long as you then win 2 in a row, or you can win the first but have to then win 1 of the next two in order to place in the allocation position. I am assuming 8 allocations at a given weight (specifically eyeing 125 and 141). Does this look to be correct?

It all depends how many allocations are given at each individual weight. If there are 4 allocations at a weight the wrestler would have to place 1 2 3 or 4.
There are people on here who are better at figuring out possible allocations at the indvidual weights than I am , so I'm not even going to try.

My OP assumed 8 allocations at 125 and 141. This was based on another thread that showed all RPI rankings.

It’s going to be interesting. Last year all 10 guys were seeded, don’t think that’ll be the case this year.

My best guess for ISU:

125 - unseeded
133 - 4 seed (could get 3 or 5 depending on Wednesday)
141 - unseeded (could get 7 or 8 depending on Wednesday)
149 - 2 seed (could be 1 depending on Wednesday)
157 - 7 seed
165 - 1 seed (could be 2 depending on Wednesday)
174 - 8 seed
184 - 2 seed
197 - 1 seed (could be 2 depending on Wednesday)
285 - 2 seed (could be 3 depending on Wednesday)
