Big 12 POY

The coach's vote will be interesting & may be different then writer's pick. Fred will have to vote for someone other than Kane or Ejim and Wiggins had his two best games against Iowa St, so he'd almost have to vote him. Then we'd just have to hope that enough other coaches chose either Ejim or Kane.

I don't have a huge problem with Wiggins getting it. Hard to argue that Staten shouldn't be considered because of where his team finished in the standings, yet at the same time say that Ejim/Kane deserve it over Wiggins.

Ejim. Wouldn't be a monumental snub if Wiggins won, but it would still be a bit of a snub. Only thing statistically Wiggins has is less turnovers and that his team did better (don't know if they factor that or not.) Ejim is better in pts, boards, dimes, steals...

outside view: kane has zero chance at poy. he's noy and all-conference, yes. it's between wiggins and ejim. i'd bet ejiim if isu finishes strong because he's a four year guy, and his individual stats override ku's championship. i sense, it's really about tomorrow and next week's play. i hope melvin wins it. he's an actual student-athlete which is refreshing these days.

Yeah, but Kane is an actual graduate student-athlete. Equally refreshing!

Stop kidding yourself. Media still loves UK don't they?

I was looking into this, and the guy that got SEC POY last year was from the 8th place team in the conference (Georgia), and that team didn't get in the NCAA tournament. And bizarrely enough, Noel made 1st team despite missing about half of the conference season...

I'm not saying the media wouldn't still love to talk KU, but I don't think Wiggins would be getting much POY talk if KU was 10-7 and ISU was 14-3 in conference.

Even if we were in first I'd expect ejim and Kane to take votes from each other and wiggins win. No big deal but it would be a joke if either aren't 1st team big 12

Should be staten but foster or a few others wouldn't surprise me.

staten was my earlier choice but wvu will have to finish strong, like beat ku tomorrow, and/or win some in kc for that to happen. the 5th spot will be determined over the next week, methinks.
