Greetings all,

I had a very generous Cyclone reach out to donate two all-session tickets to the men's basketball tournament next week. Rather than just auction these off to the highest bidder with proceeds to We Will, the donor preferred these be given to a parent/child combo or at least to create unique experience for those involved. I think it's an incredibly kind gesture and happy to help facilitate. If those who are selected as the winning entry want to contribute within their means to We Will, even better. :)

Please post below what you may plan to do with these tickets and your story of why it would be meaningful for you. Our team at CF will select a winning entry by Friday at 10am. Go Cyclones!

Hey Brent, if I were to be chosen I would take my son with me who is becoming a diehard cyclone fan just like his dad. He has yet to miss a cyclone football home game since he was born, but has yet to see a cyclone basketball game live. My wife and I recently had a baby girl 4 weeks ago, and with that he’s had to adjust to life as a big brother. I would absolutely love to have a dad/son week in KC watching our beloved cyclones. The memories that would be created from this would be something we’d both hold onto forever!

I’m a recent ISU grad(2020) and would love to take my dad(2001 ISU grad) to the big12 conference tournament. My dad went through 4 years of engineering school at ISU while also raising my sister and I, so he didn’t get to go to as many games as he would’ve liked. I now live out of state/away from home, and would cherish any opportunity to enjoy some cyclone basketball at Hilton south with my father. Go cyclones!!

Very generous offer! I am entering my name into the hat.

I told my son and he's crying tears of joy. We're driving to KC right now and he cant stop saying he's scared and nervous, he wants to go home, and who the **** are you, you're not my dad. I tell him to shut the **** up and he's happy crying all over again

I’ll fly to Minneapolis and convince @BoxsterCy to pretend to be my dad and we’ll drive down in one of his cars, top down through the cold, snow or rain etc. Then we’ll get blasted in the P&L before the game on my tab to scream our heads off.

Who says no?
Lie, you won't drive anywhere that's over 3 hours away!

i had a bird in my terlet last year and i am scarred. i need to pound beers from mcfaddens and ride the bull from pbr to make it all better.

:jimlad:

I would love to take my daughter. We are football season ticket holders and she never misses a football game. She goes to several basketball games every year and I have taken her to several big 12 tournament games. My daughter has an intellectual disability and at school they incorporate cyclone sports into her studies. S
She can tell you each players averages from points, steals and assists. She would love to go watch her favorite team and players in the big 12 tournament.

Hi My name is Michael Brown.

I am a a HUGE probably one of the biggest Cyclone alive. I am currently fighting skin cancer that’s spread all over my body. I’ve had some of the cancer removed by a dermatologist and I’m going this Friday to see if I can be cleared to undergo a kidney transplant. I cannot have the kidney transplant until I am fully cleared by the dermatologists.

I am on dialysis now for my kidney. I go 3 times a week. I’m hoping to get my kidney transplant soon. I’m currently on the transplant list at UNMC in Nebraska & Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. I don’t have any children of my mine but I do have a niece that’s like a daughter to me. Her name is Kenzie and she is a bigger Cyclone fan than I am! She begs to go to games every night that they play, even if it’s on school nights!

We would be extremely honored if you picked us to win! You’re a wonderful person to do this for a special family! Thank you for considering us.

We have a winner!!

I would ask, but ISU has lost 4 out of the last five home games we have attended. My son, wife and I would rather watch them win on TV than watch them lose in person. :). I admire what you're doing though.

I would take my dad down. He’s a 1970 graduate. 50 year season ticket holder in football. He’s the reason I grew up in the love/hate relationship with the cyclones.

He’s always had cattle at home and would never take more than a day away from home. Now he is on his first winter with out any and very bored.I’ve gotten him to come down and back for a game , but can never get him to stay over night.

He also had heart surgery in early December so hasn’t made too many games this year even as a season ticket holder. He always makes sure to have someone in his seats if he can’t make it. He’s been through the roller coaster of Iowa State sports for years. It would be fun for us to go down and watch basketball.

I would also make sure the rest of his family could make it down and enjoy KC. (Wife , grandkids, daughter in law etc..)

In the event of an early ISU exit, I’d hope to watch the other sessions and just watch basketball like when I was a kid. If he decided the weekend was too much, I would make sure to find a non-KU or Texas fan/ family to enjoy the final round.

Either way, this is a cool giveaway and hope to someday be able to do the same.

3rd generation Cyclone graduate, and long time family ties to the university. I am a football season ticket holder and former basketball season ticket holder (have two little boys that prevent me from going to EVERY home game now). Raising two little boys that love going to “I-STATE” games in Ames and cheering on the teams.

Just saw this on Twitter. What an awesome gesture, esp on a tough night for hoops. We would love the tickets. My story isn’t really special.. I found parenthood really challenging when my son was born. Now being a dad is all I want to do. I’m looking for every excuse to hang out with my boy and create as many awesome memories together as possible (he just turned 4). ❤️

This would be amazing for my son. He is a huge fan of basketball, especially the Cyclones! He has never been able to attend the big 12 tourney and having access to all of the games would be amazing. His dad, my husband, had to have knee surgery in December which has prevented us from attending many basketball games this season. He is on the mend and I know these tickets would mean a lot as they could attend together and make those memories;) Thanks for considering.

This is so great and another reason I just love Cyclone Nation!

I would love to win tickets to the Big 12 tournament and take my high school senior son, York.

On a total whim, York and I drove to KC in 2019 to watch the Cyclones in the Big 12 tourney championship. It remains one of our fondest memories together. The Power & Light Cyclone pep rally, the Big 12 tournament experience outside the arena and then the exciting game. A mom-son, basketball junkie road trip we'll never forget.

But this year....well, this year York is a senior. In just 2 1/2 months, he'll graduate from high school and is headed out-of-state for college. I know that our time together is limited and I'm doing everything I can to create and cherish moments together.

I tried to do that this past Monday night. For Christmas, I gave York tickets for the two of us to attend the WVU game. As a high school basketball player himself, there are very few Cyclone home games that don't conflict with his own basketball schedule. I chose the very last game, assuming his new-to-Class-4A team would already have ended their postseason run.

To our great delight, York's DC-G team showed tenacity winning two postseason games. They faced #2 in the state Waukee (and our new Cyclone recruit Omaha Biliew) on Tuesday, meaning he had practice on Monday night and couldn't attend our last Cyclone experience together before he graduates.

I tried and tried winning the Iowa Farm Bureau Hilton South contest, hoping I could give York one more memorable Cyclone road trip together. This might be my second chance to make that happen.

Thanks for the opportunity to win!

Sincerely, sentimental mom of a high school senior
