Big 12 gettin worked tonight

I'm choosing to refuse to acknowledge that any bowls were played by Big XII teams. Everybody on the conference football teams just had a nice Christmas/New Year's Eve with their family while catching up with old friends.

Rough year for Big XII in bowl games.
Luckily we will be rolling in the dough for 9 teams going bowling. But dayum some trophies would be nice to go with that money.

What a debbie downer bowl season for the group. Looking like the BIG. This may turn out to be the most lopsided B12 bowl game.

It tells me this:
The top half of the SEC is damn good.
Bob Stoops has just as much trouble as CPR on getting the team ready for bowl games.
Texas A&M's win over Bama this year was certainly no fluke.
If I hear "Johnny Football" or "Belldozer" one more time this season, I will write hate mail to every media outlet in the nation.

The media hard-on for Johnny Football is ridiculous. I get that he is a good QB, but this is honestly getting a little bit silly.

Agreed. And we have to put up with this crap for at least 2 more seasons until he's eligible for the NFL draft, right?

Power-numbers may have indicated differently throughout the year, but I don't think Big 12 is as good this season as in 2011.

More balanced in intra-league play? Definitely.

I just don't think it had the oomph this season. Not a lot to boast at the top in regular season -- KSU beat OU, which lost to ND at home and then K-State got thrashed by Baylor ... bowls don't tell us everything, but it's, unfortunately, not a special year for this conference.

Anyone that thought OU had a chance in this game is nuts ... Sooners don't tackle well (hello Tavon Austin rushing for 350 yards might have been a little preview of Manziel cutting them up on the ground) and against teams that can match them physically and athletically, Stoops' teams have been soft for quite some time

I don't want to start a "bash our offensive system" thread, but OU's offense against A&M looks a lot like ours. Every single play features Landry Jones standing in the middle of the field. Passes batted down, sacks, seems like the only time they get out of the pocket is when Jones has to scramble. Sometimes he hands off, sometimes he throws, but A&M has figured it out, just like everyone has figured our offense out.

Almost every year I have the same response to bowl season. The top of the SEC is the best and the rest of the BCS conferences are not worth trying to evaluate overall strength.

Big 12 is going to be in for a rough time.

OU is going to be down next year. Belldozer at QB is not good and they don't have much for skill players right now. Their defense blows.

Texas has Mack Brown problems, will be fine but not dominate.

WV will blow.
Kansas blows.
Clones won't be great.
Baylor maybe decent.
OSU probably pretty good.
TCU maybe decent.

Amazing that Manziel comes along their first year in the SEC. Can't believe Sherman redshirted him. Sumlin gets all the credit and he didnt even recruit him.

Baylor had a nice game in the Holiday. Shame it wasn't ISU since they'd have been in it if Woody didn't fumble against WVA (UCLA prob wins easily though.) Thats the only good really performance in terms of conference prestige but theres other wins.

Mike Riley gave the Longhorns their win that game was disgusting and hard to believe someone managed to be a much worse coach than Mack Brown.

Texas Tech had a good win against Minny. I know it was an easy cover for the gophers and they should have won outright but their a good team that Kirkwood is a bowling ball and Gray looked good when he played no way the Red Raiders should have been laying 2 tds. Okie St won as well and destroyed Purdue.

Thats 4 wins which isn't bad I'd step back from the ledge.

OU has always been an embarrassment this year. I've disagreed with people on here about OU but I have thought all along that team is a heartless joke and Stoops gifted K State and ND dream seasons they didn't deserve because his kids laid down for some unapparent reason in those games. They could have sleep walked to an undefeated regular season like the one they had in 05 when USC humiliated them in the NC if Stoops was able to motivate his morons.

TCU returns their entire defense and possibly their qb that sit out most of the year this year. OSU and them could be battling it out for the o conference title.
