Note the use of the word "could" by the writer. Yes, it could be the most successfully year ever... And yes, Iowa "could" win the national title in basketball, however, the Iowa writers seem to put more emphasis on the words "would" and "should."

Iowa was also blown out by IU, NU, and Rutgers during the year. But they took MI into overtime in the Big 10 tourney, so sweet 16 for sure.
