You think if he misses the dance next year Barta coughs up $9 million? I don't

There is no way he would or should imo. That is a big chunk of change for a basketball coach. Hawk fans best thing to do at this point is just hope that Fran gets it turned around again. He isn't going anywhere for three plus years.

So what is your opinion if Fran doesn't make the dance next year? Not many coaches go 3 straight missed tourneys with a minimum of one of them being horrible and survive it

I would want him gone. Not sure what Barta would do.

With the buyout, the firing Fran discussion is pointless. If I were a Hawk fan I'd be praying they somehow got caught up in the FBI stuff. I might take two or three years of penalties and a rebuild over 3 or 4 NIT bubble seasons then total rebuild. Otherwise, they are looking at 5 or 6 years before he can realistically be fired. What's got to be scary for them is, he's probably only one PIG type of season from getting another extension.

Great young talent.

They have to keep him a minimum of three years. No way they are paying a $9 million buyout to a basketball coach.
That's very embarrassing for your athletic department. He's the worst coach in a Power 5 conference.

I dunno, Vandys old coach is now at Pitt and has lost 15 in a row.
And many would say he was a very good coach. A much better track record than Fran, albeit st better programs.

Good coaching is circumstantial and perishable imo.

Stallings seat is red hot... At this point I expect him to be let go at the end of the year after gutting Pitts roster following Dixon and trying to restrict Cam Johnson grad-transfer to NC.

Which re-iterates the mistake that Barta made by extending and removing the option to let Fran go if things went bad and fan support evaporates.

Wow. A lot of pressure on hoks to win tonight. Would be hard to explain Minnesota breaking a 9 game losing streak against ToE.

Iowa should win by 12.

You asked who I wanted, not whether the person would actually take the job.
