Thank God our players aren't happy when they lose. "I'm proud. I'm happy." LOL pathetic the moral victory mindset you get in Iowa City

"Of course our objective is to win the game so that part sucks," Cook said. "But going up against one of the best teams in the country and playing them tough down to the wire is always a good thing, especially for us since we've kind of been struggling.

"I'm proud. I'm happy. And there's a lot of good things we can take from it."

That sounds a lot like the McDermott years.

It's a step forward from the way they've been playing. They could easily been blown out in the first 15 minutes and never get any closer. That's been their MO.

Oh I'm aware I just know our players would never be happy losing at Hilton. Just the difference of the mentality Fran teaches his players and where the programs are at

Maybe a few have figured out to have any team look at taking them, they might want to prove they belong in D1

Like asking the hot girl in school out and getting shot down but celebrating because she's said she thought were were nice during the shoot down.

Last night gets Fran one step closer to being able to coach both sons at the same time. Must see TV.

That's a bad look. Naz or Georges or Monte or Prohm would NEVER say anything close to this after a loss. Cook must think that he helped his draft stock last night and sees the dollar signs. Iowa played its best game of the season, at home, and still lost to a team playing poorly in a trap game. That's hardly a moral victory. AND IT WAS FRAN MCCAFFREY BOBBLE-HEAD NIGHT. JFC.

A few times in that game I thought "there is no way that Miles Bridges is a lottery pick," and then he would make an explosive move and totally change my mind.

His head was bobbling pretty good after that last few seconds in-bounds turnover.

If he follows the path of every other Fran player he'll have a great freshman season, get all hyped up for his future, and then never be heard from again. Better be good coming in cause Fran's players peak their freshman season.

This doesnt make any sense.

Hawks played well but didn't take advantage of FT's and foul trouble. They were in the bonus with over 15 minutes to go and went a huge stretch of the 2nd half with Bridges, Ward and Jackson on the bench. The last 30 seconds were a perfect example of how not having a PG loses you close games. Kind of the theme of Frans career. There is a direct link between Fran's inability to recruit the PG position and his abysmal record in close games.

Joe is really good but his numbers are a bit inflated. They play some really crappy teams. I'd take him in a heartbeat but just sayin'.
