Big 10 Stinks - Northwestern

Congradulations to the Big 10 for COVERING the Spread. I was impressed by Northwestern, but they were just OVERMATCHED. The Big 10 does not have the Talent that the Big 12 has. End of Discussion!!!!!!!

Although FAT and SLOW, the Big 10 might not be as pathetic as everyone says.

I'm still predicting 0-6 for the WORST CONFERENCE in the COUNTRY.

Melvin - just think if we were in the big 10 this year. We'd be playing on January 1st or later, no doubt. Our offense would have torn up that league and looking at the Big 10 offense, it wouldn't have taken that much of a defense to dominate the league.

People don't want to hear it, but bowl games are not about who is better. They're about who "wants" to be there. It sucks, it's unfortunate, but it's the system our university president's think is best.

The Big 10 is a victim of amazing bowl tie-ins. It's not their fault It helps them get amazing exposue. Unfortunately (for them), it usually finds them overmatched in bowl games. Once the match-up is locked in, one of two things happens (usually nothing in between)...

1) The underdog rallies the troops, plays the no respect card, and comes out and gives a valiant effort (close win or close loss) to a highly rated team.

2) They get blown out.

Vegas doesn't lie. The only Big 10 team favored is Iowa.

"But, but, but...the Big 10 plays defense!"

I don't think we can even judge the Big 10 on head-head in bowl games (win or lose). Mainly because some teams don't want to be there. You don't wan to hear it, but the only way to judge teams is the "eye ball" test. Watch all year, and make your judgement. I watch the Big 10 (as does most of the media and voters) and don't think they're as talented, fast, and skilled as the Big 12 and SEC. Sounds like a silly way to determine who is good, doesn't it? Funny thing it's exactly how we determine a national championship match-up.

I think he had better talent than Mac but is not a great coach. I think he overachieved last year and seasons like this year is what Mizzou fans can expect in the future.

I don't know if I have ever been more impressed with a young coach than I am with Pat Fitzgerald. What a great coach. Bring a lot of energy to the side line, while at the same time staying under control. He has a bright future

It will be interesting to see how Pinkle does following the departure of Christensen. He has been his right hand man and the architect of the offense that produced the winning records. The defense has never been good (except against a big 10 team at crunch time).

Being optimistic I see them going 1-5 in bowl games this year. There only chance to win is Iowa vs. South Carolina.

Wisconsin was outmatched, but jNU more than held their own against Mizzou last night. If the rest of the Big 10 teams are as overmatched as jNU was supposed to be, then we should be in for some good football games.
