Better Call Saul

This is the season he turns for sure, with the trailer they played there is no doubt.

I agree. I think, with his reaction to Hamlin, that it's not the cold-hearted turn I sort of expected, but more of a cover-up of his true emotions.

The trailer basically had him seeming to drug run across the border

I definitely picked up that he was going to work for either Gus or the Salamancas in some capacity.

I binged BCS this past week and caught the premiere of Season 4.

It was a difficult episode to watch. Chuck was such a great foil for Jimmy that it makes sense for the path to Saul to now be much easier. What is a little sad to think about is that, while the show is still set, what, six years before Breaking Bad - we know ultimately he is going to wind up with nobody substantial left in his life. Kim doesn’t go to Omaha with him, so we can assume she is gone. No Chuck. Mike doesn’t care about him and he seems fine in BB with Mike’s trip to Belize.

Jimmy ends up in Omaha AFTER Breaking Bad, correct? And Kim isn't even in Breaking Bad, so Kim isn't even in the picture anymore by the time Jimmy goes to Omaha. Or do I have that all wrong?

Yeah, sorry - I was meaning that just watching a prequel to BB which is itself a prequel to the Omaha scenes is sort of sad, knowing that we're seeing a man slowly lose his integrity and joy in life, as well as (presumably) the woman he loves.

I am so torn on Chuck as a character (which I realize is a moot point now). The whole play on sibling dynamics between the beloved black sheep and the second-class good egg are fascinating, and you can both understand and simultaneously loathe Chuck for it... and Jimmy.

That was some wonderful acting by the actress who plays Kim. Her fury was palpable

That scene was pretty incredible.

I was sitting there thinking when he was telling her Jimmy could "go through the burnt rubble for a memento," that it was clear how little humanity Howard has, especially after he dumped on Jimmy about the suicide.

Howard is an interesting character. He seems like he CAN be a good guy at times (genuinely liking Jimmy and wanting to help him out when it was at no expense to himself), but fundamentally selfish. There was almost a hint of disappointment that Jimmy didn't come in Monday's episode.

Something hit me during tonight's episode: do we know the circumstances of the falling out between Don Eladio and Hector Salamanca (either from BB or BCS)? Gus plays both sides of that rift to perfection to enact his ultimate revenge, until...
He runs across the likes of my alter ego!!

I remember that chemist from BB. I think we are right on the cusp of intertwining. Except Jiimy had a hot business when he hits B.B.

Not sure what to make of Kim's issues starting at the bank when looking at the models, then going to the courthouse secretly and finally during the letter reading. Is she just overwhelmed by the amount of work the bank is going to be giving her and she realized that she is going to have to focus and separate from Jimmy?

Also, do you think what Jimmy read is actually what was written or did Jimmy just improvise because it was actually bad towards him. Or was that the actual letter but it was written a long time ago.
