We are coming up for a game and I was wondering if anyone had any insight on a good hotel to stay in. We have little kids so we are looking for a pool and hot tub. Thanks for any info.

I live here so I haven't stayed in any of them, but there's a Hilton Garden Inn next to Perfect Games if that is of any interest to you, it's pretty new and looks nice. Also there's a new SpringHill Suites at the Highway 30/Dayton exit, I've stayed at them other places and they've been nice.

I just talked to someone who is in Ames for work and is staying at spring hill suites and noted it’s really nice. Can’t tell you the last time I’ve stayed in a hotel in Ames though.

Do NOT stay at the Sleep Inn by Perfect Games.

We like to stay at Courtyard by Marriott on 17th. They have a pool, but not sure about a hot tub. (We're past the kids want a pool stage of life). It's clean. They have a restaurant/bar. Easy walk to Dublin Bay & a couple other restaurants. Great staff.

Years ago we stayed at former Holiday Inn - now Radisson. Not recommended. It's really gone downhill. Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express a couple years ago when we couldn't get rooms elsewhere in Ames. Got the last room and swore we wouldn't stay there again, either.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn last weekend - it's nice enough and has a pool/hot tub, but you can tell that it's getting old and needing some TLC - though they do seem to be working on renovating it.

Stayed at the Hampton Inn a few years back when it was newer and it did the trick.

The Courtyard has probably been my favorite stay, but not sure on pool accommodations.

Where is BDK? His folks are not home most weekends the way he talked. They got a hot tub but gotta be careful because they get busy there a lot. Best to skim the top first.

Negative would be BDK would probably be in the basement, but buy him a 12 pack of beast you have a free weekend I’m guessing.

Huh, this has become our go-to spot to stay when we're back in town. Affordable, comfortable, and we've never had any issues. Probably stayed there half a dozen times with no complaints at all.

It was smelly as hell the one time we stayed there. I will never stay there again but I’m glad you had a good experience. It was cheap I’ll give you that.

Last time I stayed here after checking in and going to my room I found a used condom on my bed.

Not the Best Western south of the sports stadiums.

I don't recommend that one for adults either.

You poop the bed by chance?
