Worst: "Wide Awake," by Katy Perry. That awful thing kept popping up when my son and I were driving half way across the country and it is coma inducing. Only good thing is we would both jump to change the channel after a while.

Maybe not the "best" driving songs, but if you see someone driving south down 65/69 here in the next hour rocking out really hard in his car, you can assume it is me because "Evil Empire" recently made its way to my car stereo.

This makes me reminisce on the days when I had a cd player in my lap, those flip CD holders, and the tape shaped converter in the tape player driving around. Didn't crash either.
I was so happy when I got a car with a tape deck in it, so I could use that tape adapter.
Then I saved up money and bought a fancy cd player.

My absolute fav is the guitar solo in the middle of Def Leppard's Run Riot. First time I heard it was in '87. I was headed back to Muscatine from Burlington. There is a long down hill curve on highway 61 not too far outside Muscatine. Hit that curve at the guitar solo (3:02 mark in the youtube clip)......perfect match.
