Dan Beebe sounded like a defeated man. The Big12 will be gone within a week or two. I hope these rumors of the Big East wanting to add the former Big12 North schools hold lots of water.

All I got out of the Beebe babbling was everything he does goes through Texas and those are private conversations.

I like the analogy the gust on MPs show had. He said that DB wasn't even aware of what was going on in his own house. He also compared him to Rip van Winkle. Saying he went to sleep in Texas and wore up with all kinds of problems.
Bebee had no control over this. The B12 commissoneer is just a secretary for Texas.
Listen to the Neb press conference. Fascinating stuff. Basically Neb says that Texas said they were leaving and taking 6 teams with them if they didn't commit to the B12, Neb said fine, we will commit if Texas gives it's media rights to the conference. (Basically saying they wanted Texas to not start a network.) Texas said no...so Neb left.
Texas blew this up, they wouldn't allow a B12 network to start because they wanted their own if they could swing it. Instead now they go to Pac 10 and take decent money anyway.

Take everything with a grain of salt. At an outing in Harlan, JP said UN-l was the antagonist at last weeks meetings.
I did not think the UN-l's PR machine would work so well outside of its target audience.
Would have led to a healthier conference too, if Texas had signed over their television rights, and led to a Big 12 Network most likely. Ah well.
So Texas had control over their own media rights? No one else did though right? Wasn't that part of the problem of getting ISU games on TV even if they weren't picked up through the Big XII?

This is very useful information. It makes since, but I was also thinking this was a TX caused dillema.
