Beat Baylor

I believe a safety on a 2-pt conversion is worth one point. So, possible.

It's not possible because you have to have scored a touchdown to get the chance for the 1 point safety.

Even better explaination:
College football rules allow either team to score a one-point safety after a touchdown. Say that Team B blocks Team A's extra-point attempt, and a player on Team B picks up the ball on the 1-yard line. Looking for an opening, the player with the ball runs backwards voluntarily into his end zone, where he is tackled. Team A receives one point for the conversion safety, and the score is now 7–0. Team A then kicks off from its own 30-yard line, as after any touchdown. A conversion safety has occurred at least once in the NCAA, in a game between Texas and Texas A&M in 2004. Following the Longhorns TD from a blocked punt, the ensuing PAT was blocked and recovered by a Texas A&M player on the one yard line. The player tried to make a return, but was tackled in his own endzone for a one point safety.
Although exceedingly unlikely, college football's rules also allow the defensive team to score a one-point conversion safety on a PAT or conversion try. One possible scenario: Team B blocks Team A's extra-point attempt, and a player on Team B picks up the loose ball and runs towards the opposite end zone. Before reaching the goal line, he fumbles the ball and it is recovered by a player from Team A, who then voluntarily runs into his own (Team A's) end zone and is tackled. Team B would score one point for the conversion safety and the score would then be 6–1.

Guys, did you see that "TD" Cannon the freshman WR just got added to the Belitnekof (SP) watch list today. Great now it is TD, Norwood and Godley all on the list. Can we match these guys speed wise in the secondary is my question? Note, they also go 3 deep at QB between Petty, Russell and Johnson. All are a force to be reckoned with!

I get the feeling you're a Baylor fan.

This wasn't really all that long ago. The chance of a repeat seems slim, though.

Who is this "we" that you mention?

Nope, from the Ice Cream Capitol of America and attended Iowa State in the late 70's. Just read other boards tons and see what they are saying about their team. Besides we all know we have tons of buddies working some where in Texas just like I do from the Metroplex to Houston to San Antonio area.........I could give you 20 names of buddies who are all down that way and keep me informed re football as well. BTW, you ever walk beans at 6:00 a.m. with dew all over them? Didn't think so thus the moniker that includes STINE. As in Stine Soybeans and the only billionaire in our state. Now you get it? Oh yeah, if you ever want to stop up our way I will gladly show you what raising 100,000 head of hogs looks like here in Plymouth County! BTW, one of our young men from the neighboring town of Remsen "BEER CITY" use to be a pretty special baller for the basketball team in case you follow Cyclone basketball.

Take it easy guy, it was a simple assumption, not an accusation, and a fairly reasonable one considering you had inside info on a Texas high school quarterback and knew more about Baylor than anyone here and were bragging them up even though we all know how good they are on offense. I will never ever ever question you again in fear of having to read another novel about your life.

I think you are reading a novel about one of his relatives. Riding the coat-tails!

I'm looking forward to the game. While there is no doubt we are playing at a level Baylor has never played at (even with Mike Singletary, even with RG3), we still have demons to overcome. The only win I can remember in football or even basketball for that matter in Ames came in 2005. That Guy Morris coaches team broke a streak of (pure guess) probably 100 road conference game losses in a row.
Also other demons we are trying to fight is winning anything inside the state of Oklahoma for the first time since the 1940's whether it's Norman or Stillwater...
Again I'm looking forward to it and we've learned or at least I hope we've learned you never take any game for granted.
Coach Rhodes can coach. Coach Mangino should still be in Kansas(ask any Jayhawk, they'd love to have him back I'm sure). You guys always have played hard no matter the competition and I'm certainly not looking past Sept 27th. Hell I think we will have an easier time in Austin the week after than we will in Ames.

Baylor is going to beat us like Adrian Peterson beats his kids. Must be a Texas thing. Too soon?

http://www.heinnews.com/basketball/nba/jared-homan-an-iowa-farm-boy-on-european-adventure/

Jarod and his family bought one of my cousin's farms on C-38.....southeast of Remsen, IA "BEER CITY." So proud to see what Jarod did for our Clones as well as where he is now with his career! Always thought he should have been a BULL.....lot's of good ballers up in this part of the state. The DUTCH in Sioux County keep us all honest up here. All they do is win state titles at all levels with their public and private schools! GO CLONES. "You can't take Iowa out of the man."

And seriously, y'all are so close to being 2-1, instead of 1-2, but the pundits don't see that.

We don't take moral victories anymore. Tired of them, and tired of self pity. Every game is a new game. I think ISU has a chance against anyone. We have beaten teams we shouldn't many times, and even had games taken away (Texas). Baylor is a force, but our defense is under-rated talent wise. If we can push Baylor around, stop the run, and disrupt passing routes, it could be a win.
