Beat Baylor

I'm concerned about KD Cannon. I think we need to make sure it is Tribune on him at all times. Then again, they had a RS Freshman receiver on the other side that this past weekend caught for 123 yds and a couple of TD's. Anyone know if Antwan Goodley is out for the season, or will we see him back for this game?

Need to do better offensively. Averaging 18.3 ppg right now and that isn't going to cut it.

I think part of that is due to the type of clock-eating teams (you know I wanted to type something else) we have played so far. Our average should go up with Big12 play.

That's a good point. I hope it does. Last year it didn't but I think the offense looks more competent this year.

Let the grass grow a little long, hope for cold weather, and a lot of luck. Maybe we can break the NE record of 8 turnovers in a game?

I wish ISU had a decent running game that could slowly grind out first downs to keep Baylor's offense off the field. Not a lot of chance for a win, but it would be nice to at least scare them a little.

I'm ready for 2011 all over again! I think the signs are there:

1. Primetime nationally televised game (again).
2. Game after a bye week (again).
3. We are likely to be overlooked by the other team (again).
4. Nobody expects us to win (again).
5. Our team looking for payback for last year.
6. Baylor does not have a great history at JTS.
7. Better offensive coordinator in Mangino.
8. Defense and offense that are getting better with each game.

Not saying is going to happen, but just pointing out that the conditions are eerily similar to the Okie State game with a few added twists (5-8). I think we have a puncher's chance at least.

This Baylor team is better than that OSU team. Petty is 5 times the QB as Weeden.

I am not saying we will get blown out, but this sum ***** will be a tough one.

Yeah, but they have also not played anybody yet. Add to that primarily relying on 2 freshmen WR's and anything can happen. Hopefully we can get those guys rattled and uncomfortable early. Last year's Baylor team was able to maintain their level of play throughout the conference schedule. However, the year before they started with just as gaudy numbers only to have a huge drop off once conference play began. Which Baylor team do we face this year: 2012 or 2013?

I think that, just like with the OSU game, if we keep the game close throughout it will make them start doubting themselves and open up the window (if at least a crack).

Correct. We had 9 possessions against Iowa. 11 against NDSU. We have more against Big 12 teams. We had 13 against KSU this year. Last year our possessions against Big 12 teams went 14(Texas), 19(OSU), 16(Baylor), 18(Tech), 14(KSU), 16(TCU), 12(OU), 13(Kansas), 16(WVU in regulation).
