Ok. We all remember all of the whining and complaining about how none of our recruits had BCS offers, even though we had more commits at an earlier time than we basically ever do. People were complaining that is was going to be a terrible class and it went on and on.

Now look at this, almost all of the guys we are going after right now have BCS offers! I am going to go out on a limb as say that this is not because our coaches changed their talent evaluation techniques or standards, but because we simply found that talent early and offered early. Other BCS teams didn't have a chance to recruit them because we identified their talent first.

You can even look at Kennth Lynn. He was a commit without BCS offers, but then Kansas decided they wanted him so much they went after him even though he was commited. He decommitted which sucks, but obviously he had talent.

Just some food for thought.

your giving kansas too much credit

Seems Rhoads is locking up the guys he wants early, and then trying to go in on some gravy late in the process. Lots better then losing out to all the big time talent early then scurrying later to piece together left overs.

Anyway this got a little off track but the point is that our staff is obviously not bad at evaluating talent, just found talent early that other schools hadn't yet. This is something ISU needs to do because it is just the way it is gonna be. I'm very happy with the way things are going.

I agree with the idea here. I think we have to have an understanding of where we are and realize that we won't be in on probably anyone in the top 100 or even the 250 for that matter. Don't waste our time. Go out, find kids who are undervalued. Be the first there and build a relationship. Hopefully it's a relationship that lasts if/when the big boys come. Take Devondrick Nealy for example. He had some big schools interested. We were the first there and now look, we have a great shot to land him.

Kansas is recruiting all three stars. Check it out. They will be better in the future.

They were playing with all 3 stars this year. A lot of the players that were playing were recruited during their orange bowl year. Didn't work out too well. They also have chuck long as OC. I don't see them being much.

Now recruiting, Bojay Filimoeatu didn't even have a profile on Scout when we started recruiting him. Now he's a 5.7 3 star on rivals. Our coaches know what they are doing. We are in the top 2-3 for 4 very good players in JJ gaines, Josh Grady, Armonze Daniel, and DeVondrick Nealy.
