***Baylor @ Iowa State Game Thread***

Like what????
Inquiring minds want to know:wink::wink:

Sorry, no inside knowledge. BF said that on the post-game.

I signed off after that and was in Mason City; I am going to read the rest of the thread to see what the people in the know said about this.

Reading their thread was fun. A lot of positive comments about our girls and Bill; however, I couldn't help but notice the similarities with complaining about coaching (MBB that is). Everyone is an expert.

Very impressive win by the ladies today. Hope they can take that to Lincoln next week.

My wife, oldest daughter (age 9) and I went to the game today (thanks to Ms3r4ISU for the tickets). WOW! I commented to my wife that if I wasn't a HS girls basketball coach, I would strongly consider purchasing season tickets. That was HIGH QUALITY basketball and coaching. I loved BF's intensity even when we were up 20+ points in the 2nd half - WOW!!! My daughter (who is already a big ISU fan) came home and immediately printed off pictures of Poppens and Williams and stuck them on the wall of her room. "I want to earn a basketball scholarship to ISU and play for them," is what she kept saying. Don't know that she will be that good (especially if she inherits my lack of athleticism), but that quote nearly brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Twister Sisters and BF for an awesome Saturday performance!!!!!

Taking both my daughters next weekend. Have been looking forward to it for quite some time. After watching the game today I'm REALLY looking forward to it.

For great reading go to Baylor's fan blog:

Especially in the first few threads where Mulder predicts that the Lady Bears would make short work of Iowa State. LOL

Thanks, that was worth a few chuckles!

Really like the one guys comeback when some was making fun of Bill. "He is one of the only coaches in the Big 12 who seems to have any sense of class IMO. I do love to see him get all twisted though, when he gets to "gasket-blow", it's pretty entertaining!" Nice comment from a guy who is watching his team get smoked.

Hope your daughters have as much fun as my 9 year old did! Would love to see a 20+ 3 point barrage by the Twisters in that game!

Great game... the sisters were cranking it on all cylinders. They shutdown Griener and the rest of Baylor looked pretty pathetic. By far this was there best game of the season. I hope they keep it going from here. Go Clones...

I'm not even sure what you're talking about since this is BF's 15th year. If this is a slam against McD then I'm with you; I'd like a change made on the Men's side too, but dont' bring that **** into a WBB game thread.

I was pointing out how BF molded young players so quickly compared to others.

I've been contemplating this lately, and I think last years team was still better, the big 12 is just weaker. Yes we have a lot of ranked teams, but last year I think we had 3 or 4 teams in the top 10 for a long time and this year, only Nebraska deserves to be there. I personally think we will probably finish with the same conference record as last year.

I see where you are coming from, but I think our defense and rebounding are much stronger this year. Prins and Pop are strong bodies and don't get pushed around as much as Wieben did, and Schroll and Stuckey's athleticism are something new as well. What I like about this team is their performance seems to be improving through the conference season.

Only the tourney will tell how strong the Big 12 is this year. I was real fond of A&M making a deep run, but they have lost their moxy. Overall, I think it is a down year in WBB as a whole with many traditional powers in rebuilding years, but the SEC is having similar parody issues as the Big 12 this year. The Big East has a couple amazing teams, then falls off quickly. The Pac 10 has Stanford, and that is about it. It could be a really interesting tourney this year.

I think the difference is that this is the most physical team I've ever seen Fennelly field.

BF's teams in the past had feet of clay when it came to physical play. If the refs weren't calling it, our women got clobbered. His teams were primarily finesse teams up until now. It is obvious that BF has changed his style to adapt to the way the game has changed.
