Just got the email from the athletics department saying that the student ticket policy for next year will remain the same. I know some people on here thought it might change but it looks as it won't.

Based on this season, with a good schedule and a top 15 team the students still didn't fill it up, so I would oversell it even more.
There are some facts in the AD letter that I didn't know, such as the only game to max out on students in the last two years was Iowa this season. I thought it also happened for Michigan and KU. The letter says that a student could have walked up at tip time and gotten right in to every game except for this year's Iowa game. Thus, it makes sense to not change the policy because they don't expect it to happen next year since the Iowa game is away.
Still, it wouldn't surprise me if JP also has some sort of scheme for walk-up General Admission tickets, particularly after a pattern is in place.
That's where I think a lot of people expected change. A last minute type way to fill up that top section for non marquee games.
My son got into Iowa game but was in the standing room only part and holding up a girl so she could see. Any idea how large the student section is when counting the standing room?
I think the most logical policy would be getting rid of football/basketball combo passes, instituting a lottery system with loyalty preference points for "premium" games, and developing a way for students to easily transfer tickets if they can't attend the game.
