Basketball shoes from your past

ISUAgronomist's thread on the new Air Jordans got me thinking about what kind of basketball shoes I wore back in high school when kids made such a huge deal about it.

I wore these one year:

This was my "be different than everyone" phase, and I completed the retro look with knee-high striped socks, hair down to my shoulders, mutton chop sideburns, and lots of Zeppelin on my Sony Discman. And before you ask, yes, I was made fun of on a near-hourly basis.

In our first year with "team shoes", we wore the A.I. Reeboks, when basketball shoes that weren't high-tops were pretty uncommon:

Same here. I do have a couple pair of customized NikeID's around (spikes & running flats).

I had 4 pairs. I wore them one season, absolutely loved them and bought 3 more pairs on clearance. Those are still the best shoe I've ever work in terms of comfort.

I should also mention I got made fun of slightly for wearing shoes three years old at one point. It didn't really matter, they only got practice action anyway since I was awful at anything outside of shooting it.

LOL. The Shaqnosis. We were playing a tournament in Mason City (beat Horner in the final) and got there and my teammate forgot his shoes at home. He ran to the store up there and came back with those. We gave him so much ****.

My dad gave me a pair of his original Converse all stars when I was in high school, and I wore the crap out of those.

BTW-I threw my Nike Air Force 180's away after a year or so. Those same shoes are now selling for over $3,000 on ebay.
