Basketball Hoop

Having went through two portable hoops and the hassles they provided, we went with a Goalsetter and will not be going back. Hardest part of the install was digging the hole and pouring the concrete (even still, only a couple of hours work). After that it was a breeze and went together in a couple of hours tops. Our model is rock solid (All Star)....my teenage son and his friends can attest to this as they have done their best to put it to the test and break it, but to no avail. When we purchased, we got a free pole pad as well (equipped with ISU colors and logo) ~$300 value.

BTW, Goalsetter is an Iowa company, which was an added bonus / surprise.

Only portable one I’ve ever had was one we had behind our house in Ames during the college days. Played on it just about every day (weather permitting). The thing one must consider with a portable is the risk associated with the entire goal coming down on somebody. We had that thing filled with water, with sand, concrete blocks on top of a water or sand filled base, etc. None of it stopped that portable from coming down on occasion after a massive dunk.
