Wow! Two threads in two days bashing the Cubs and not started by Cubs fans.

I can see why people are sick of all these Cubs-related threads... :skeptical:

Let's be real though...that is impossible. Therefore, if I were Bartman, I'd capitalize off it as much as possible.

How impossible can it be? No one has seen from him or heard from him since it happened. If the Sun-Times hadn't published his address, nobody ever would have found out where he lived. If Bartman wanted to capitalize on it, don't you think he would have done so by now?

Just like the cubs shirt you have on under that Kirby Jersey! Right?

Might be the case if I were a native Iowan, but alas I'm not - I'm a native New Yorker who loves the Mets (for family reasons) about as much as I love the Twins (because Bud Selig is a tool that wanted to contract the Twins solely to expand his Brewers territory, and taking on the Twins as my favorite team seemed like the most appropriate thing to do to "protest").

My "hatred" of the Cubs goes back to when the Cubs and Mets still played in the same division. Now, if Cuban had been allowed to buy out the Cubs, my view on that team might have changed...

That actually happened? I was under the impression that the 2005 World Series was cancelled due to lack of interest, and also because the executives at FOX had all committed ritual suicide at the thought of losing all that advertising revenue.

It's ok to still live in denial, but facts are facts! I was alive to watch and so were my grandparents!

You're right, the facts are facts, and the fact is that World Series was one of the lowest rated World Series of all time. Nobody watched, and less people cared.

:biglaugh::biglaugh: Ratings! :biglaugh::biglaugh: I could careless!!! it's all about this:

Didn't Alou eventually come out and say he didn't think he could have made the catch anyway?

I have seen plenty of cases of fan interference that were much worse than this one. The ball was clearly in the stands and he had a right to go for it. This wouldn't have been anywhere near the big deal that it has become if it wasn't for the fact that it is the Cubs and they are 0 for the century.

IIRC he retracted it shortly after he said it.
