Barbara Walters dead at 93

I really don't get when people are upset a celebrity they never meet dies. Its life.
Easy to forget because of her role in TV news later in her life on 20/20 and her biopic celebrity hour long specials. But Walters was a pioneering women in Network news.

Well lived Barbara.

Betty White 12/31/21, Walters 12/30/22. What old white lady is dying on 12/29/23?
Over last 365 days, we've lost Betty White, Queen Elizabeth, Angela Lansbury, Loretta Lynn and now Barbara Walters. All in their 90s.

There's not too many famous 90+ year old women left. Looking at this list, I'd say the most famous ones are Rita Moreno, Barbara Eden and Eva Marie Saint.

Many celebrities also bring joy to our lives, and it is indeed a sad moment when they will no longer be around.

Its a different kind of upset than losing someone close to you, but still valid.

Fair enough.

I appreciate what she did and the great groundbreaking career she had, but I can never forgive her for leaving us with the View, which was marketed as her brainchild.

I never feel too sad when a celebrity passes away in their 90s. They lived a long and fulfilling life and had good health to carry them to that old age. That's all you can really ask for in a good life. I feel more sad for the celebrities that die before their time usually due to disease, accident, or of their own doing (drugs, suicide, etc.). The same can be said for friends and family.

I rarely do, only when it's someone I thought still had more to give. Examples:

Taylor Hawkins: Too young, had kids, Foo Fighters still rock, can't imagine them playing without him. He just had a great personality. I loved a lot of commentary/interviews that he did.

Norm McDonald: Norm is probably tops for me when it comes to comedy. He was also pretty young. He's had a few projects he's tried that didn't really take off like a Netflix show and another show on some weird channel. People always approached him with ideas but he was just to 'Norm' and never really cared or wanted to put in effort. I wish he would have put energy into a good show for the fans as he's funny as ****.

Other than that, meh, good to remember what they did for a hot minute, then on to the next thing in my day.
