Does anyone know of a good bar to go to before the game? Preferably one that I wont get shot, stabbed, or beaten.

I dont think you will get stabbed or shot, but you have a chance for some good ole boy to spit some chew on you im sure.
Anywhere downtown will be close and fine.
If you like a good micro-brew, go to Lazlo's in the Haymarket District.
If you want a college bar type place go further east and there are like 15 within 6 blocks of campus

ahh yes this too. dont worry...it doesnt sneek up on you. people will try to warn you that it will but they are kidding. it doesnt taste like there is alcohol in it because there isnt any. just drink as much as youd like.
