Baker Mayfield transferring from TTU?

We were interested but he told the staff he didn't want to leave the state of Texas so we didn't bother to offer him. He wanted to go to TCU but they didn't offer so he walked on at Tech.

5/6 seasons we had at least 7 wins, one with 9 wins. I would take that in a heartbeat if offered now...

I think (hope) Rhoads will have a nice bounce back next season much like McCarney did from '03-'04.
 
When Jim Harbaugh or Saban takes over Texas the NCAA will allow him to transfer to Austin without penalty. In fact they may give him an extra year since he did not play every game.

He probably thought that this warranted a scholarship and Kliff probably wasn't going to give him one. He has the talent to go to a big school and not have to pay for school to play ball. Don't blame him.

What are the reputable sources saying about this? So far, we only have unattributed references to rumors.
 
IDK, I think it would be a very odd decision by Kingsbury to deny him a scholarship. If this was basketball that would make sense to me but surely out of the 85(?) scholarships they could find one for the current starting QB, who at worst would be a seasoned capable back up next year.
