I hear you, and had trouble myself with an avatar change - looking into it.

Why in God's holy name would you ever want to change your avatar?

More than likely it's a simple problem like this:

The permissions are probably just out of whack and need to be changed. I didn't see this thread so I was trying to everything to get it to work...including deleting my avatar. I just want one back!
