Attention Gene Chizik:

Re: Chiz gets no respect

The best thing that happened to ISU in recent years, was Chizik leaving, IMO.

Well, maybe 8 TO's could be a serious contender.

Re: Chiz gets no respect

Since someone almost always does this, I'll get this out of the way: "who cares about chizik man... move on"

but with that being said, with all of the "lots o' stars" athletes at auburn compared to ISU (according to rivals/scout/etc), I will laugh my *** off if we come out with a better record at the end of the season

Go ahead and continue to pile on Chizik. It will only prove the comparison between Chizik and Rhoades and accentuate how much better off we are without Chizik.
Also, how can anyone blame Chizik for bolting and going to Auburn. A large pile of extra cash and many more players to recruit.

Re: Chiz gets no respect

Honestly, I'm hoping he has a decent record to end the season. Nothing great, but enough to get to the independence bowl (or cotton bowl, fingers crossed). Then, when ISU plays Auburn in a bowl game, every Cyclone player can look across the field and tee off on his team as retribution for the way he left Iowa State.

Petty? Yup. Vengeful? Sure is. But it would be so sweet to take out Chizik's Auburn squad with the players he recruited and left high & dry.

Do you guys realize how close we could be to playing Chiz if we go to a bowl. That would be the best thing ever.

Re: Chiz gets no respect

I think Chizik's Iowa State record will come back into play as Auburn has now dropped three straight.......

...and as we win more. It will be harder for people to look at his record and say "well, it was Iowa State." Not saying that will be fair, but it could definitely happen.

Re: Could Chizik get fired?

shouldnt this be on the Auburn forum?

Re: Could Chizik get fired?

Auburn isn't USC. Them going 6-6 or 7-5 in the coaches first season isn't the end of the world. They are the little brother in that state and probably always will be. With the QB play they have and Ted Roof as the DC, I'm not sure what they would expect.

Re: Could Chizik get fired?

Because it's fun, it's petty, we're people, and people tend to be ******** for the most part. Especially on the internets...

Personally, I think he has a minimum of 3 years before they start calling for his head. Unless Alabama shellacs them 2 years in a row and they do mediocre overall. Never thought I would hear myself say this, but ROLL TIDE! :)

By the sideline camera shots, and the announcers, you'd think Malzhan was their coach...might as well be.
He pretty much is. As we've seen firsthand Chizik is just a figurehead type head coach (like Mack Brown) and doesn't offer much in terms of actual coaching.

Not so sure about this. They ran Tuberville out on a rail after going 5-7, a year after he had gone 9-4. They were undefeated in 2004 and went 11-2 in 2006. If they're truly the little brother in the state, I would think these records would suffice, and that a one year rebuilding period last year would have been acceptable. If Chizik doesn't get at least 9 wins next year, I expect that he will be fired.
