Atmosphere at JTS

the tornado game with colorado, this win was also the last straw for their head coach.

It was nuts everywhere, i was in the 2nd to top row far south upper deck west side corner, everbody was going nuts.

Curvey sensing a Buffalo screen pass, stepped back and made a one-handed interception, and then rumbled 66 yards for the game-clinching touchdown

This game was my choice too. I was sitting pretty much right by you, I remember standing up and the wind blowing over the west stands was strong enough to blow your hate off.

Colorado 2005 (tornado)
Texas Tech 2002 (the run and lane's reverse)
Nebrasks 2002 (took the field)
Iowa 2001 (post 9-11 Nov. game)

1976 nebby game and Luther Blue running back a kick off 95 yards for a td!

cold as all get out and the place was sold out and rocking for a mid November game in Ames, IA! Can still see the nebby fans leaving for the exits awfully early in the fourth qt!
Yep, that was as loud as I've ever heard it. ISU 37, Nebraska 28.

i was at the 2005 colorado game, but the iowa game that year was more electric. (I could tell through my TV)

colorado was amazing though!

Did you take that pic of the nebby game in 76? I sure wouldn't mind seeing more if you have any and would there be a chance of you emailing them to me? - that brought back some HUGE memories! Listening to Pete Taylor in the post game was nothing short of magical - I believe that he was about to lose his voice.

Let me know...thanks for sharing the one you posted!

You're welcome! Yes, the picture is at that game. I've got 4 or 5 pictures that I took. Here are the rest of them:

my first choice, too. Then Iowa 2007
Had a buddie nab a nice red Stetson off a neeby fan. the guy (probably early 40s) chased him all the way to the old east hall parking lot to my palstopped and threw it back to him. What a blast that weekend turned out to be..

For all the young bucks on this board...

1976 - Nebraska
1981 - Iowa (first Cy-Hawk game in Ames since the 1930s)
1984 - Oklahoma (first-ever night game at CS/JTF, Homecoming weekend, OU ranked #2, ESPN national telecast)
1992 - Nebraska

The "Tornado Game"

That game was so much fun. The crowd was rabid since the tornado changed the barometric pressure and caused people to go insane.

I was at all of those games and they all were great. The Oklahoma one in 1984 was really rocking. If I remember correctly, Musco from Osky provided the mobile lighting as we didn't have permanent night lighting. We came doggone close to winning that game too. It seems as though a late flaky touchdown by OU won the game for them.

Forgot about 92 Nebraska, I was 13 and got trampled on the field after the game. Still can't believe my parents let me go down there. A couple of girls stopped to help me and my buddy off the turf and we were right there for when the goal posts came down. When your 13 it doesn't get much better than that.

Beating the snot out of Nebraska, 36-14 in '02. One of their touchdowns was the 90 yd pass play that caught us off guard completely and the other a 2 yd drive after a blocked punt. Other than that, absolute domination and a thing of pure beauty!

Another vote for '02 Nebraska.

We were ranked in the top 10 (or close) and it was a beautiful day. The tailgating was insane and the atmosphere was electric.

Best game ever.

The tornado game was the "coolest" atmosphere for a game, and it was a great game, but it didn't quite mean as much as '02 Nebraska. At that time we were thinking Big 12 championship.
