At least Bolt is humble right?

No man has ever won back-to-back 200m runs before this year. And he's won back-to-back 100m and 4x100s on top of that. If the man wants to call himself a legend, I'm not going to stop him, and I'm not going to call him arrogant for doing so, either.

Exactly.

We want to see showman in sports then when we get one that has the flair and chrisma loike bolt does then people say hes not humble and arrogant. You can't have it both ways.

Tomorrow when we win gold in basketball, the celebration better be nothing more than handshakes.

Just to spite you, I hope we take home silver :twitcy:

And I think you guys are confusing celebration and arrogance...there's a little bit of a difference.

Did anyone actually see him being interviewed after the race, or was I the only one??

Yeah I did and he answered the question that was asked. He did what he said he was going to do and that's the way he answered the question. If you had a problem with that why didn't you have a problem with Blakes comments then

Missed those. What was the jist of it?

How is he arrogant? He is the best in the world. He proved it. I watched it. He's the fastest man in the world and said so. Where is the problem here?

Bolt is a stud, maybe a freak of nature. I think he is entitled to brag a little.

Did anyone else just see him spouting off to the camera? I kinda lost a lot of respect for him after that display of sportsmanship...

I get what your saying, I really do. I guess I just find fault with him saying no one will ever touch him. Yes for the past two Olympics, no one has even stood a chance or even come close to what this guy has been able to put together.

Someone, somewhere, someday will beat his times. History says so.

No guarantee on that. Only time will tell.

Do any of you guys care that he is on roids? I think it is naive to think he is not pumping himself up as much as possible. My guess is some of you guys thought Sosa and McGwire were clean as well. The cycling of his performances, the sudden improvement from 10.0 to 9.6. Two 4X100 teams broke the world record tonight and one got silver. Hmmmmmmm? Our women's 4x400 team broke a steroid fueled 30 year old record set by the East Germans by a second last night and we are supposed to beleive these girls are all clean? And don't give me that "People are trianing harder now." People have been running for thousands of years. Maybe the athelets are a little better, but so are the roids. Ben Johsnon thinks he could run a 9.3 or 9.4 with todays roids. Guys just don't go from 10.0 to 9.6 without help. I don't think any fair minded individual can really sit there and not at least question if Bolt (or many many other sprinters) are clean.

Records do fall over time. Competition helps records fall. In every sport athletes are better. Todays athletes are checked more than ever for drugs. Track was drirty 10 years ago, how many records were broken then. If drugs are so rampid in track today the US and Jamaica must be keeping the good drugs all to themself.

He has always been a showboat. I am fine with it. He set a world record in the 100m while celebrating during the last 20m in Beijing. It is absolutely unbelievable what he did in Beijing. He was so much faster than the competition.

It didn't really bother me what he was doing on the track and in interviews. However, wasn't real thrilled to hear him rip Carl Lewis.

I honestly think Bolt is clean. He is relatively new to the 100 meters as he started out in the 400. Also, he has a huge stride, which obviously helps. His stride covers almost ten feet. The 200 is his best event and he runs the curve better than anyone in history.

Where the **** have some of you been the past four years? They guy COASTED to world records in Beijing, celebrating before he'd even finished.

Props to him for stopping his interview out of respect for the national anthem of another country. But humility when it comes to his own abilities/accomplishments, well, you've been living under a rock if you only just realized he has none tonight.
