I was looking through wild card possibilities for the ISU guys and I was wondering if it is possible that some weights might have less guys qualify for a wild card than slots available.
For example, at 197 the Big Ten gets 6 allocations. If everything goes to chalk, these 4 guys would need a wild card (7 are available at 197), but I think only the guy that finishes in 7th place would qualify
#21 Michael Beard
#22 Matt Wroblewski
#23 Gavin Hoffman
#27 Billy Janzer
Wroblewski, Hoffman, and Janzer all have below .700 records and have no wins above their ranking. The only qualification they would have is coaches ranking. Would they all be left out of the wild card consideration?
Right now I only see 4 guys that would be eligible at 197 if things go scratch in the Big 10 and Big 12.
#25 Reenan (4th at ACC)
#33 Mousaw (placed two spots below in SoCon but has > .700 record) - he could drop out of the rankings too.
UR Colman (if he places 6th place at Big 12 and gets in the coaches ranking)
#21 Beard (if he places 7th at Big Tens)
What will they do with the other 3 wild card spots? What am I missing?
