Assistant Coach Possibilities Thread

This the same limited midset that brought panic

and inability to grasp the Hoiberg hire. Its just a idea i threw out there anyway.

Re: Timeline for assistant coaches?

I don't think there is a major hurry. He has another good month before really starting recruiting for 2011 and most of that is just spent going to camps watching guys.

Re: Coach Morgan

Morgan is a average but not great coach, but he is good enough to serve as an assitant to Hoiberg.

Do you really think a very good former coach (with similar big 12 experience as Morgan) is willing to be on Hioberg's staff?

And when was the last time I defended McDermott? Just askin...

I'll state it once again for those that just can't seem to get it through their thick heads - McDermott's failures as head coach has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Morgan was not a good head coach.

Ed Pinckney as a possible assistant?

Call me crazy, and maybe this has already been posted today, haven't looked through all the posts. However, I'm hearing the name Ed Pinckney added to the coaching staff as a possible big man coach. Anyone else?

Please put all ideas for assistant coach possibilities that you have in this thread.

Thanks!

I haven't heard that, but it would be interesting.. We should just name a bunch of current Timberwolves assistants and say they're coming to ISU :smile:. I'd also be surprised if an assistant from the NBA came to the Wolves anyway. I'm sure they're getting paid decently well, especially with Mr. Glen Taylor being worth around $3 billion paying their salary.

I'm guessing they won't be names anyone is super familiar with, but upon research they will look like good choices.

I'll be surprised if there are any "big names"

After looking up Pinckney, I think that would be a great hire. From New York, played ball in Philly...those connections can't hurt!

Well, if you watched the post-interview with Hoiberg from the ISU Wesbite, you can hear a reporter very quitely ask about Pinckney, supposedly that was on of Fred's first calls.

Hey Josh - The Timberwolves just as well cancel next season, they will be nobody left to coach them.

Re: Who will be Fred's on bench mentor?

Dear Mr. Fudd,

We regret to inform you that your resume was pitched when we realized that you couldn't abbreviate "Video Tape Rewinding Expert" correctly. Thank you for your interest in the position!

Sincerely,

Tigershoops31

Solid post.
