It's sad that we're doing that, yes lol I was merely stating how bad that loss to Florida A&M was. The MAC is completely different than the SWAC, like it's not even comparable. Ohio is competing for the title this year and could/should win 10 games. That FAMU team went 12-15, we were their first P5 victory of all time, and we also were their second win all season and they won on New Years Eve lol.
Just remember that sports aren't end all be all, even though in my life, they consume a lot of it. My biggest issue isn't the emotional toll.. I'm an ISU fan for crying out loud. It's the financial toll. Everything's so damn expensive right now and driving all the way to Ames on Saturday and everything that comes with that just to watch our offense sleep walk is putting a bad taste in my mouth.

The plan seems to be: we're gonna run our few plays; if we score fine; if not we're just gonna run those same plays until 4th quarter and we have to score, then we might try something different.
I just don't get why a team would have an offensive philosophy that seems to have an aversion to scoring points. It seems like a gross overreaction to the air-raid offenses of a bygone era, and is not well suited to playing in the current Big 12. No, you don't have score 60 points a game, but why is scoring 30 so objectionable?
I know. But Prohm being used to prop up CMC on this hate everything Prohm website is not a sparkling endorsement of the job he is doing with the football program.
Higgins had the ability to run by his defender with ease on Saturday. I'd have to go back but I think we only let it rip two times? Both good throws, and if I remember correctly, both should've been PI but only one was called.
I'd have to go back but I don't think the person who brought up Prohm was doing so in support of Campbell. They were using Prohm to compare this loss was on that level, which it wasn't. I agree there's no reason to bring him up.
Matt has not lost the team nor is he getting blown out every single night. Matt has a legit opportunity right out in front of him to change for the better and if he does, it could/should net positive results. Hopefully wins, but just improvement on the offensive side and being aggressive is what most fans want, and I think a lot of us agree that with our defense it should net wins. If he stays stubborn in his ways, he could be on the way out soon.

Just a decent football team with bad coaching on offense.
Campbell has a low potential strategy on offense, and even worse, is a bad tactician on executing that strategy. We clearly don’t teach the details needed at a high enough level, when trying to implement an offense that depends on winning margins on a handful of plays

I'll also add that maybe it didn't matter, but the pick 6 against Iowa included arguably the worst out route I've ever seen by Norton. If you're running an option route, or at least one that's supposed to look like an option route, you are at the very least trying to make the S or LB there pause. Norton ran basically a banana pattern that was so obvious where it was going by his second step that assuming he had deep 1/3 beside him by the corner, the SS had no reason not to just break hard and undercut that "route."
Maybe that pick happens anyway, but I'd say if the design was to run the route like that against a defense that runs a metric **** ton of deep thirds with a S or Cash or whatever they hell they call their hybrid in a zone in the flat, that's terrible, terrible offensive scheming.
It’s impossible for us to know what happened there, I think everyone got that play wrong. It appeared that was the option and Rocco locked it in and threw it in about .2 seconds. The play hadn’t even gotten close to optimal development when the ball came out.
Yeah, after I went back and watched that I completely absolved Rocco of any responsibility because Norton is so far from where he needs to be that I can't tell what should have happened and judging by the other evidence we've been given by Rocco, I tend to think that may have been a good play. It's at least not a pick 6 if he runs the route right and based on the angle the defender would have had, I don't think it's a pick at all.
I can tell you for sure that if the Banana Out exists, it's only in our playbook. Rocco was definitely looking for an out there and a corner route, based on everything else going on, would have been an insane thing to do, which I suppose is possible.
There is no way he is still on the sidelines when JTS is half empty every week. What's the point?
