Just watched CW's video answer to this question. The 2016 intraplay Big 12 sked won't be announced till later, but it will be the reverse home-away of this year's, if not in the same order. So here's the 2016 sked, conference order to be determined. (ISU will have seven home games.)

*UNI
at Iowa
bye (iirc)
*SAN JOSE ST.
at Kansas
*TEXAS TECH
at TCU
*BAYLOR
at Texas
*OU
at OSU
*KSU
*WVU

Defense: 8 starters returning and some key backups.
Offense: Lanning, Warren, all receivers except Bundrage, OLine so-so (rebuilding).
Recruiting: Get more quality JC players like a year ago, and Bob's your uncle.

If we finish this season competitively, and with more wins, I'm one fan who will be excited about next year's Cyclone team. If we get mashed a couple more times this fall, in the inimitable word of Roseanne Roseannadanna, "nevermind."

Slightly related, I hope we can slot a conference home game between Iowa and SJSU. As many games in sept as possible.

We should beat UNI.

Iowa has a pretty good number of guys back, so they will be tough, especially at home.

Well San Jose State isn't as good as Toledo this year. (I think). So that will help.

This may have been answered in some other thread somewhere, but is there any chance QB could get a medical redshirt for his torn ACL last season. He only played 1 series. I would think he would have a great shot at getting one.

Good schedule. 7 home games plus we get to use one of those 5 road games on Kansas.

Too early to know how good any of these teams will be, but this is about as good as the schedule can set up in the current rotation.

No. He already had used his redshirt. And without being out most of two seasons, he isn't likely to get a hardship 6th year, either.

Definitely looks to be an easier schedule but nothing that approaches Iowa's. I would only put the @TCU and @OSU as in the not likely column. Who knows what @Texas will be but probably not an easy game.

Home game against San Jose should be much easier than the @Toledo
Five home games plus the @KU game.
I think Baylor will be down somewhat losing some lineman
Home games with both KSU and WVU which may have new coaches next year.

If QB can't get a medical redshirt, then no player should ever get one. He might just want to move on with his life though after having been in college for 5 years already.

*UNI - (checks to see if David Johnson returned to school. No? Okay) - MUST WIN
at Iowa - MUST WIN AGAINST DEFENDING NATIONAL CHAMPS
bye
*SAN JOSE ST. - MUST WIN COOL UNIFORMS THO
at Kansas - JUST DONT LOSE
*TEXAS TECH - MUST WIN
at TCU - NOPE
*BAYLOR - HAHA SERIOUS? NOPE
at Texas - THE ONLY THING BETTER THAN ONE DONUT IS TWO DONUTS, MUST WIN
*OU - FU STOOPS NOPE
at OSU - MUST WIN
*KSU - MUST WIN
*WVU - MUST WIN

Basically I see 9-3 fellas.

It's hard to get excited for our non-con. I get why we play Iowa (although a break here and there would be fine with me so we could play a different Power 5 team early on), and San Jose State fills in as the typical mid-tier FBS, but why are we playing UNI again?

I couldn't care less who our FCS opponent is.

We get to play a rivalry game every year in non-con, that's better than most Power 5 schools get.

Cheapest, worst FCS as possible please. That's probably UNI.

Honestly, I'd rather restore our rivalry with Missouri or the Nebraska series throwing those in place of the Iowa game every now and then. Then you're essentially not losing your non-con rivalry. Plus we still play Kansas State every year for an in conference rival.
