Arlen/Yackley to Transfer

Question to Gizz:

Why do you continue to attend WBB games and pay the money you do for the great seats you have?

I think this poster is trying to be positive, while trying to make people understand that this is a personal decision on the girls' part, and that we should respect that.

Interesting that when guys leave the MBB...they get ripped to no end.....

what about the ages of these girls...18-22 yrs old...emotions run wild, intimidation is the main form of motivation, fear of loss becomes a way of life...shoot the ball or your on the bench...miss it and your on the bench...they are not treated equal...and they know it...most of the time they are scared to talk .let alone express thier own opinions...mistakes are smiled upon for some players and for others they are taken off the floor..this is womens basketball at ISU...live with it or move on...all the stats speak for themselves....is this Div.1 sports ??? yes or no...my opinion..yes

strange to you, that's fine. but i get sick of hearing how fennelly's teams are "intimidated" by him just because a few girls can't handle his style of coaching.

it's disgusting to read someone berate him on this board. he has been nothing but good for EVERY player that ever played for him. some have chosen to accept, others have not. but let's not blame him.

I was unsure who your post was being directed at....

So you can rip and berate these players that leave, but someone can't talk bad about the coach? :skeptical: Get off your high horse!

because Bill Fennelly has never turned his back on Iowa State, despite the numerous $$ opportunities available in the 14 years he's been here.

some of his players have chosen to do the opposite.

that's all. my comments aren't malicious, they are truth. i know much about the situations there at iowa state, and i'm on this board to spread some of the information in the most honest way. take it or leave it. i know one thing: bill fennelly has the right thing going up in ames.

It's pretty obvious from your posts you have an agenda against these girls (loks like your original post appears to be edited now).

ms3765...you think too much , sit at the top of hilton or don't even go to the games...open your eyes and ears...i did not place blame...just went to the last 135 games home or away!!...Go Cyclones...

Folks, the real culprit in this is Title 9. 15 scholarships is just TOO MANY. AD's put pressure on head coaches to carry the full load of 15 but only 7-8 play. That leaves way too many unhappy.

It's a perfect storm of not being able to handle the intensity and playing time. Coach F is extremely tough on his players. Coach F wins. Maybe we should just go back to being really nice to everyone and draw 376 people at the games.

A lot of this comes from parents who can't handle their daughter being put through adversity.
