Arlen/Yackley to Transfer

Most of her time (will likely be? / would have likely been?) at power forward. A 6'1" PF isn't that small, particularly one as physical as she is.

Yes, Arlen (if this is true) would be a loss for sure. She has a mean streak to her that we need.
I appreciate your research in your previous post about regarding departed players too!

Agreed about Arlen. If she is in fact gone then Zimmerman will be thrown into that role very quickly.

I have a spreadsheet where I've kept track of the rosters, so the info was right there. I mainly use it to see what the scholarship situation is going forward, but it's even more useful as a quick reference to the past. :)

Fennelly said in a news release. “They want to find another level of program where they can possibly obtain more playing time.

Ashley averaged 9.4 mintues/game on a squad that was senior heavy in the post positions. 9.4 is not bad for a freshman in that situation.

Good luck to her in the future , I think we'll miss her next year.

I understand Yackley, but not Arlen. So she did not play very much in a senior heavy class. It's not a senior heavy class anymore and unless she doesn't think she can play at this level, her timing is awful.

I wonder if Bill's coaching style played into it. I know there were a few times Ashley got upset with Bill simply because he was pushing her to try and make her better and she just broke.

you can't try to improve people anymore. you know that right? it is just too hard on the feelings.

Hate to see Asley leave. Talked to the Mr Arlen at several away game sand he was always very upbeat. I think it is very hard to juggle 15 womens scholarships and keep them happy. If you are not in the top 7 to 8 you will not play many minutes. Good luck to both of the girls in the future, Craig

I don't understand why Arlen is leaving to get more playing time. I think she would be playing at least 20 min/game this coming season as a sophomore and her playing time probably wouldn't decrease as she continues to develop. Maybe she thinks Anna Prins and other recruits coming in are going to leap-frog her and take all of her time?

Is Arlen a legitimate Big 12 post player? Maybe Arlen has come to the conclusion that she is not, doesn't want to change positions, and is looking for a school where she can play effectively as a post/power forward???
