Arizona does NOT hire Tim Floyd

Re: OT: Arizona negotiating with Tim Floyd

Money is his number one factor.

Money is his number one factor.

So is mine.

I can see the rationale behind this move. Better tradition at AZ, more money, clean slate, etc. Arizona needs someone to rebuild their empire out there and Floyd could be the guy. Although he's going to have to stay longer than his average of about 3 years per stop to make that happen.

Re: OT: Arizona negotiating with Tim Floyd

I would like to see Tim stay somewhere longterm, to see what he could do with a program...maybe take them to elite status. But, historically he has not cared about my opinion.

Re: OT: Arizona negotiating with Tim Floyd

I just saw on ESPN, that Capel is the number one choice and it is pretty close to being done.

Somebody is lying.

Tim Floyd to Arizona?

ESPN is reporting that Tim Floyd maybe the next coach at Arizona.:skeptical:

I can't believe that they're jumping up and down in Tuscon over this...that's a pretty elite tradition that Lute has built. I thought they'd be able to lure someone with a little more prestige. Just sayin...

Re: OT: Arizona negotiating with Tim Floyd

I'm in Tucson today and local radio is all over the Capel story. They did an April Fools this morning about Lute returning for a one year contract and people bought it hook line and sinker.

Re: OT: Arizona negotiating with Tim Floyd

Has Tim Floyd stayed anywhere longer than four years as a head coach? He is getting to be just as bad as Larry Brown. I knew when he said that "USC is my last coaching stop" that it translated to I'm gone to the highest bidder is a couple of years.

Seems like Gene might be following in Floyd's footsteps. Thing is, Tim seems to have shown that he can produce, so its strange that he keeps jumping around to different jobs.

Re: OT: Arizona negotiating with Tim Floyd

Glad we dont have to go through the Floyd rumors every year anymore. It would be nice to have teams like he did but the next job rumors got old.
