Are you a coffee snob?

Coffee snob? Now that I sort of am. While I don't know anything about coffee and don't know if what I am drinking is actually "better", I know what I like. I can never go wrong with Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts (dark roasts), and there are a few more that I have tried and liked but can't remember the names.

I do NOT like Folgers or coffees that you can see through. I will drink them, however, if I must. Most hotels, for example, have pretty weak, crappy coffee. IMO.

Oh, and I also don't put anything in my coffee. Black, always.

Anyone know of any other good coffees?

We are constantly trying new coffees, I love a good dark roast and a lot of flavored roasts. Lately I've been hooked on Verena Street coffee, roasted in Dubuque and sold at HyVee. I recommend Mississippi Grogg and Juliens Breakfast Blend if you want to try it.

pics please. I need to see if you are lying or not. :D

I live in Oskaloosa, so I go to the one on the square in town... There are other locations in central/southeastern Iowa as well.

I love coffee but I don't have too many preferences. I enjoy everything from dark roast to light roast to flavored. The thing about flavored coffee...I can't really taste the "flavor". I can smell it but I can never really taste too much difference.

Ankeny.....my in-laws live there. I'll have to make it a point to stop and see your mother.

 :jimlad:

Just because I live in Ankeny does not mean my parents do as well. In fact, when listing my requirements for choosing a community to reside in, number 1 on my list states "parents do not live in said community".

Seattle's Best (Level 3-5), I have had most of the Starbucks brews as well I like the Pike's, French, Italian, Espresso Roasts, Dunkin Donuts are good too. I would also suggest going to an organic food store and buying some coffees from there those are usually amazing just find a good dark roast.

It's usually subtle, but definitely present. I drink all coffee black too, you're not tainting it with sugar or creamers are you? ;)

Ah, yes. I like Seattle Best, too.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I don't care much for flavored coffee with the exception of a Dunkin donuts french vanilla once in a while. Most flavored coffee's are not good roasts which is why they add the flavoring imo. I currently live in hell where there is nowhere to buy coffee other than walmart, luckily I'm moving back to Iowa (DM) next week and I'll have so many more options.

Hard to believe but for me the best coffee I have ever had was from Taco Bueno. They use the brand "Community Coffee" They didn't last long in Omaha but I would stop by just to get a large coffee in the morning.

Flavored coffee is for ******* ***** pansy *****.

Never could do the coffee thing. Always thought it tasted like burnt water. If you could burn water.

That's what my dad thought for the first 50 years of his life... Then he just found out that he wasn't drinking quality brews
