Another Player Only Meeting...

That would be incredibly pointless and a massive waste of his potential.

i don't know about that. But it took a while to figure out how to play without him. It would take a while to get him back.

501 usually has good info...Would be an unbelievable moment. Is this a real possibility?

I assumed 501 was saying it in jest. Is there an ACTUAL possibility to this happening? I'm not sure how decisions like this are made. Is it up to the player to say 'eff it, i want to come back this year' even if coaches are saying not to? Not saying the coaching staff would say that, but playing devil's advocate

I have no inside knowledge of this... but it would be awesome wouldn't it?

I think the tears probably cam from Naz telling the guys how much he wished he could be out there helping them and that they need to capitalize on their talents the rest of the year and go out special!

Randy Peterson has something to write about tomorrow
He has it all figured out in his article today. I wish he would pass all of his knowledge on to the coach, maybe even sit next to him during the game.

Looking like the Baylor loss could turn out to be a great wake up call for the rest of the season!

A chance to go to the Final 4 with his brothers wouldn't be "incredibly pointless"

With the way Matt's playing Naz isn't going to make that sort of a difference. He could make a much bigger difference next year although the level of success would likely be less.

From one of the newspaper articles it just seemed like some plays at the end were calling for it to be in Niang's hands and that it wasn't happening and my thought is there are some who want to be the hero (Morris). I am probably way off base but it is either a little of that or they aren't buying in to what Prohm is telling them what to do. 3rd meeting will right the ship.

You can call plays all you want but you can only take what the defense is willing to give you. If a team is denying an entry pass you either have to give the player the ball 25 feet from the basket or force the entry and risk a turnover. The whole beauty of having more than one go to player is that the other team has difficulty denying all of your options and they have to generally play more straight up opening up things for all of your players. I strongly disagree with a team having to declare only one player their crunch time go to guy. Mixing it up between viable options makes it difficult for the opposition to know what is coming and scheme to defend it. Players also have to have the leeway to improvise if the primary option is unavailable or the play breaks down.

Wouldn't Naz have to be listed on the active roster before the game starts if he were to come back. I don't think Vegas would be too happy without proper warning.

I'm sure Vegas is a top priority in any decision.

I didn't mean it like it was a priority for ISU to list it. Just saying it's basically the same thing as the injury report for football.

I personally think the injury report is ridiculous from a sporting standpoint. It's nobody's business who will and won't be playing for each game. It's just that the mob happens to differ from my opinion.

And if you don't think the NCAA and Vegas lines don't exist to co-exist, then I wonder if there is any room under that rock you are under.

Hell yes he can. It would be pick your who you want to defend. With both on the floor one would get a lot better looks than Thomas is now. But Naz still isn't healthy enough to go so it doesn't matter.
