Another player in trouble?

"How many since PR has arrived? 6?"

Well you certainly implied he is to blame.

KB got busted one week ago, not 3. And you are whining because all of the details have not been made public to you personally? In one freaking week? Are you serious? Do you understand anything about the legal system?

Where's the implication? I assume you're typing your words and not just dictating to someone who's helping you as a part of some community service work, so it's safe to say you're literate. Comprehension is much harder.

My actual thought was more of the players letting him down.

You know what they say when you assume, CloneIce?

Well when you post several times about wanting CPR to suspend/kick players off the team and talk about how many arrests have happened since he was coach it is plenty logical to assume you are unhappy with his discipline. I guess you are right you didn't say it was his fault, I just disagree with you that his discipline is causing problems. Pushing players to quit, more players to get arrested, etc. I think it is just a case of having 100 + players, boys will be boys sometimes.

Here are the "degrees of theft" for Iowa

714.2 Degrees of theft.

1. The theft of property exceeding ten thousand dollars in value, or the theft of property from the person of another, or from a building which has been destroyed or left unoccupied because of physical disaster, riot, bombing, or the proximity of battle, or the theft of property which has been removed from a building because of a physical disaster, riot, bombing, or the proximity of battle, is theft in the first degree. Theft in the first degree is a class "C" felony.
2. The theft of property exceeding one thousand dollars but not exceeding ten thousand dollars in value or theft of a motor vehicle as defined in chapter 321 not exceeding ten thousand dollars in value, is theft in the second degree. Theft in the second degree is a class "D" felony. However, for purposes of this subsection, "motor vehicle" does not include a motorized bicycle as defined in section 321.1, subsection 40, paragraph "b".
3. The theft of property exceeding five hundred dollars but not exceeding one thousand dollars in value, or the theft of any property not exceeding five hundred dollars in value by one who has before been twice convicted of theft, is theft in the third degree. Theft in the third degree is an aggravated misdemeanor.
4. The theft of property exceeding two hundred dollars in value but not exceeding five hundred dollars in value is theft in the fourth degree. Theft in the fourth degree is a serious misdemeanor.
5. The theft of property not exceeding two hundred dollars in value is theft in the fifth degree. Theft in the fifth degree is a simple misdemeanor.

I read through this whole thread, and have yet to see a argument about the morality of 5th degree theft. What has happened to us? Have we gone soft?

He had no money and needed school supplies. :jimlad:

Probably would've been better off possessing dope.

Uh, are you involved in the legal proceedings? No? So why the hell do you feel your entitled to hear anything about the matter?

And it was was only one week ago, genius.

happened before the iowa game.

Didn't read the thread, but writing a check and having it bounce is a common 5th degree theft.

Like Kirk Ferentz, Paul Rhoads is not proving to be a great disciplinarian. If he has the on-field success of Ferentz, I could live with regular petty crimes out of our players. Go ahead and crucify me, but we've hung our hats on a squeaky clean program because we sucked.

For the record, I've never had a problem w/how Kirk Ferentz has handled his players or the crimes (most. The rapists and assaulters are dog **** in my book). My problem was with how the media and Hawk fans continued to insist he is some kind of master disciplinarian when the truth of the matter is far from that.

Except nobody from the media ever said that. I read just as much about Iowa (if not more) than you do, and those words have never been used to describe Kirk Ferentz. If you've got an example of such a case, perhaps you can show the rest of the class. Maybe Phil Steele said it?

You want to say the fans say it, fine. Our opinion matters about as much as yours does, and that isn't much.

Tarheel as much as I dislike your team, I have to agree with you on this one. I've never heard anyone describe him this way. He is more like a parent in a lot of regards, and I think he views college as a testing or forming ground for his players, and allows them to learn on their own and to make their own decisions, and learn that way. You can't learn if you've got a helicopter coach or helicopter parent hovering all the time.

A of folks on here seem to think he lets them do whatever they want and get away with whatever they want and will win at all costs, but I think that is about as far from the truth as possible. And i think he is the last person that a player would want on their case.

It is just a bitter point of view from a lot of us.

Wow, what a name: Matthew Tivita Kamuela Taufoou

Are we 100% sure it is the same Matthew Tivita Kamuela Taufoou that is on the football team? I mean there's probably at least a dozen Matthew Tivita Kamuela Taufoou's around the campus.

Rhoads teams can at least compete with Ferentz teams in certain areas.

How come the register or anybody talking about this, I'd think after the Banks and friends deal this would be kind of big story, I've heard nothing about this except on this site. Is it even true???

Correct. You can commit burglary with out committing theft. Burglary is considered forced entry w/the intent to commit theft. It doesn't mean you took anything.

Sounds like someone is in there first year of law school.

My formula for football success

A^2+B+(CF)/Suspensions=Wins

Where A is misdimeanors, B is felonies, C is recruiting violations and F is domestic disturbances.
