Another big pile up on I35

People don't pay attention when they drive, period. Damn near everyone that I pass or passes me is looking down, up, down, up at their phone. They think they are perfectly good doing it and the other guy shouldn't. Irresponsible bastards.

In 'Murica only suckers pay attention to the road.

Heading Northbound on I-35 as this accident began with a single car in the middle of the road. As I glanced over to see cars veering towards the famous metal rails, I heard crunch crunch crunch with plastic and debris flying everywhere. While this may not have been the safest thing I felt helpless for those coming and Flash my lights and wave my hand out the window among those included the school bus. Vehicles barreling down the interstate at 70 miles an hour with reduced visibility 30 seconds away from disaster.

There are a lot of people driving that should not be. Ultimately, our driving freedoms will probably be curbed because of the few. I like my vehicle and my motorcycle and freedom....thanks ********.

Plopping them in the middle also poses some drainage issues.

Every mile of it would have to be gone over with the weed eater as well. But taxpayers be damned. Or so I hear.

Good....I would try the same thing. When it comes to interstate driving....we are all in this together and it is saddening/sickening to see this because you see it coming. You are helpless and you see others that are helpless because of some aggressive driving ass hole causes these things. I had a super extra large mega SUV pass me about a year ago on I-55.....Illinois plates.....doing 95 minimum. I vividly remember. A lot of the pack driving I witnessed that day too.....I was caught in the accident aftermath about 60 miles up the road and delayed hours as that SUV wrecked killing all four in it. I saw it and looked it up on when I got home. I'm not a traffic camera fan and--like all people-- I hate getting ticketed for going 5 mph over the limit (its been a while since that ever happened)....but the aggressive drivers on the interstate need to somehow be slapped and shamed into the worst possible punishment they can. I don't know....???? I don't know what the answer is.

Well when you start ******** that you couldn't see the deer you hit at 70+ mph because of the tall grass in the median, we can revisit this then.

From a narrow strip of untrimmed grass under a cable barrier? Doubtful. LOL. That deer must be half ninja.

You must be one of those lazy DOT mowers pushing this nonsense. Other states do these barriers in the center of the median, it can be done.

People need to have a bit more fear when it comes to winter driving. I knew as soon as that snow started that it was going to be bad.

It’s almost like the novelty of antilock brakes has wore off. People just assume that they will be able to stop at all times.

Time to add a third lane up to Ames? I’ve had several near misses on this stretch and try to avoid it like the plague when I’m back in central Iowa. Unfortunately hard to do.

Better just reduce the speed limit between Ames and Des Moines if Iowans don't learn to drive soon.
